Axel sat on the bed with his back against the headboard, one of his legs stretched on the bed, and the other placed on the floor. He had a half-empty glass of blood in his left hand, which was firmly resting on his outstretched leg.

His head was thrown back and his eyes closed in thought as he pondered on the events that took place the previous day, beginning from what had happened to Asher and Fred, then down to the meeting he attended.

The long and interconnected train of thoughts broke when a knock echoed around the room. Although he was back to reality, he remained in the same position, only lifting the glass towards his lips.

"Come in." He granted permission to the person outside the door to enter. Almost immediately, he brought the glass to his lips, taking in a mouthful of the dark red liquid.
