Did you miss me

The moment Alita got to uncle Ben's room, she found him already prepared for the short walk and sightseeing around the island. Now that his legs were getting stronger, she was always there to encourage him to exercise.

It has been one of the things that had kept her busy these past days, apart from Fred's entertainment. 

Today, however, she wasn't as cheerful as before, and other than Fred, who was tailing behind them, her uncle noticed. He could see how she was covering what was bothering her with a smile. The smile wasn't fake. It was a sincere smile, but he could see the sadness and worry behind it.

When he asked if she was okay, she nodded and answered in the affirmative. At her answer, he decided to let the matter rest, believing that she would talk about it when she was ready.
