Chapter Nine~ Early Expedition(2)

Five weeks later, it was a day the day for the expedition members to be chosen. On the list ten seats were available, bringing up the tension between the disciples. Evey being in the sect gathered in the stadium.

Most of the people who signed up for the expedition were on the inner disciple side. So they had to face each other, which they were not looking forward to. On the outer house expedition list were Wei Jian, Hao Xinyue, Wang Ming, and seven others. On the inner's list were Ren Xiaoli, Gu Laobeng, and several others.

Shen Tingfeng found the event boring, so he gave the role to Duan Xiulan. She was not happy, but she had no way to defy him without taking a big risk. She stood up and using qi amplifies her voice.

" Today we are here to see who is worthy to go on the expedition. This is not a life and deathmatch. So I warn you.", sitting back down, watching on as two disciples went on stage.

" The first match will be between Gu Laobeng of the Inner House and Zu Jiang of the Outer house!" Elder Ma Li announces to the crowd.

The crowd and Duan Xialan knew the victor before the match even began. Gu Laobeng was just too domineering as the top disciple in the inner house. His total amount of qi inside his dantian was fifty times that of Zu Jiang.

When the match started, Zu Jiang took out his Dao and pointed it toward Gu Laobeng. He knows that he would not be able to win, but that doesn't mean he would not try. Zu Jiang was the strongest amongst his fellow disciples, only the dead Ye Lai was below him.

Gu Laobeng before he unsheathed his Dao, stared directly into Zu Jiang's eyes. Releasing his aura, then unsheathed his Dao, enveloping it in his purple haze qi. Walking slowly like a predator walking towards prey that was cornered.

Zu Jiang was not strong enough to use his qi in such a manner. So instead, he circulates his energy throughout his body. Letting it strengthen his strength and durability. Lunging forward his blade clashes with Gu Laobeng. Both his arm was shaking, trying to push against Gu Laobeng one arm holding his Dao.

With no effort, Gu Laobeng shifts his arm and Zu Jiang was guided to the ground. Zu Jiang on the ground would use [ Golden Larvae Sixth Form: Leaping Larvae]. Zu Jiang in quick succession twists his whole body and kicks out his right leg. But Gu Laobeng blocked it with a reverse grip of his Dao with ease.

Annoyed, Zu Jiang sprang up into a low stance, his Dao heading towards Gu Laobeng's stomach. But to his surprise instead of injuring Gu Laobeng, he was the one back on the ground on both knees. The crowd and the matriarch were stunned at the speed that Gu Laobeng was at. From standing in front of Zu Jiang, vanishing and reappearing behind Zu Jiang. Then knocking Zu Jiang onto the ground with his Dao's pommel.

With a blade on his neck, Zu Jiang had no choice but to give up his badge. Held it up high, so that all attendees could see. Standing up and bows to Gu Laobeng, grinding his teeth. Both of them would leave the stage. Gu Laobeng had no intention of taking the match seriously and played with Zu Jiang the whole time.

" The second match will be between Ren Xiaoli from the Inner House and Wang Ming of the Outer House!" Elder Ma Li announced.

The two bowed to each other respectfully. Ren Xiaoli did not want to hurt Wang Ming, so when the match started, she used [ Caged Larvae Form Five: Billowing Cries of A Thousand Cicadas]. Immediately, knocked out Wang Ming in one fell swoop, ending the match. Two sect servant carries Wang Ming's limp body into the medicine hall. While Ren Xiaoli bow respectfully before she too headed down the stage.

" Coming up from the Inner House is Cai Li and from the Outer House, Wei Jian!", Elder Ma Li again announced.

Finally, it was his time to go up. Wei Jian looking forward to it since it was announced. The two walked up onto the stage, both bowing to each other. Both unsheathing their Daos, aiming them at each other. Releasing their auras ready to fight.
