The next day Aisha received a call from her parents, informing that they would be staying with her grandmother for a month. Her grandmother lived on her own in tha village side. It was a peaceful place where Aisha grew up as a kid. She loved her grandmother dearly but, due to work, she was unable to meet her . Nowadays her grandma felt lonely and needed someone to stay beside her. Aisha's parents decided to stay with her for sometime. They did offer her to come and live with them, so that they can take care of her but, she refused as she was more comfortable in the country side.
Jiwook arrived early at the office building in order to make up for the meetings that, he had cancelled yesterday.
"Siryun, ask Lee jun to get me the details of the project of country S."
"I have texted him. He would be arriving with it in a while."
Jiwook had Siryun and Leejun as his personal assistants. Siryun helped with the auditions and stuff, while Lee jun too care of their construction sites. These three were quite comfortable around each other.
After the meeting was over in the noon Siryun came inside the office to chat with Jiwook for awhile. But she was welcomed with the site of Jiwook texting someone and smiling. She didn't have to think twice, as to who that person on the other side was. It was quite clear that it was none other than that bi*ch, Aisha.
Si ryun had had a crush on Jiwook since childhood. She belonged to a wealthy family and due to their fathers being best friends, they grew up together. They even jokingly commented to get these two married in order to stay connected. Jiwook had always taken care of her in school, whenever she got into a fight. Day by day, her feelings for him started increasing. She knew that she had started liking him more than a friend.
Once they had decided to meet at their usual place at the bar . Leejun could not come due to some work, so they were alone. Siryun decided to confess her feelings for him today itself. In order to get rid of her nervousness, she drank more than usual and after a while, started feeling tipsy.
"Siryum are you ok?" Jiwook asked a bit worried.
"Yes...umm no, I am not okay."
Jiwook realized that she was drunk, and pulled his chair nearer in order to help her.
"Siryun you-"
"Shhh.... don't say anything. Today you will listen and I will talk.Understood?"
Jiwook went along with her and agreed finding her a bit funny.
"Jiwook....you have always been next to me no matter what. You have always protected me from fights with those idiotic girls as well as from being scolded by my parents. I have always felt safe with you. I don't know when and where but I have feelings for you which is more than just a friend. I don't want us to be just friends..."
Jiwook was shocked after hearing this. Never had he thought this way about her. She was like his family which is why he treated her nicely. He felt guilty for misleading her, as he did not feel the same about her ...
After saying this, she tumbled a bit and as Jiwook supported her, she leaned her head on his shoulder and dozed off, due to being drunk.
Jiwook had dropped her home. After her confession Jiwook did not know how to confront her about it. Siryun met him the next day and she was unaware of what she had said yesterday. She recalled that, she had gotten drunk, as she had decided to confess her feelings but, she had no idea as to what happened next.
She called Jiwook and asked him to meet her at a nearby cafe .
Jiwook already knew what they were gonna talk about and he too needed to talk in order to make things clear.
As he entered the cafe, he found her sitting in the corner looking a bit nervous. He walked over to her and sat across from her. After sometime Siryun asked, "Um... did I say something yesterday. It's just that I don't remember anything."
"Yes... you did."
Siryun sat there nervous. She didn't know how to face him after confessing to him. She looked at him anxiously.
"You said that...you like me."Jiwook said as he saw no point in delaying the confrontation.
There was a minute long silence where none of them said anything.
"Siryun... you have always been like a best friend to me. Our friendship is really valuable to me. We have been there for each other through rough and tough. I am sorry if I gave you any wrong signals but, I can't return the same feelings that you have for me. I see you just as my best friend nothing else..."
Siryun felt unable to breath for a second. She somewhere knew that this would be his answer. No wonder she was unable to confess her feelings for so long. She couldn't stop her tears from falling...
Jiwook went and sat next to her, hugging her. He felt bad for her but he couldn't do anything about it. He had to be honest in order to not hurt one another later. Si ryun cried her heart out. Jiwook sat silently next to her comforting her in any way possible. He was thankful that she didn't force him further as he was not sure how to handle her.
After a while, she stopped crying and sat back properly.
"I am sorry for everything" Jiwook apologized.
"It's okay. I understand, you can't force yourself to like someone... Give me some time and then we can go back to our normal lives as friends."
After that Siryun left the country for almost six months, in order to get over her rejection and heartbreak. Jiwook knew that it was necessary for her, so he let her be...
