When they arrived at the Civil Affairs office, Kang Jun turned to look at his wife-to-be with complicated emotions.
In truth, when he had begun courting her and even near the end of the three months, Kang Jun wasn't all that confident. He had never courted a girl before. He had never fallen in love. These were all firsts for him but what was worse was that he wasn't completely sure if Lu AnLing actually liked him.
There were times when he noticed that he could make her blush, or move her heart but these things could just as much be caused by a fleeting attraction.
He was afraid about what the future would bring, but now, he was afraid for a completely different reason.
If in the future, this marriage would hurt her, Kang Jun didn't want to bind the woman to him forever. Mostly, if it was against her will or better judgment, so he asked,
"I want to do this, but are you sure you want to do this?"
Lu AnLing's heart warmed sending shivers all over her body. But it wasn't an uncomfortable feeling it was one of happiness and love and she couldn't stop it from enveloping her whole being.
Kang Jun wanted to marry her. He wanted to be with her forever. This was like fulfilling a dream; a little girls dreams. However, deep within her, a slight bit of fear grew. What was she to do if she woke up one day and found out that all the happiness she was experiencing was a dream, she would surely die.
She wasn't assuming that Kang Jun would do the same thing Yang Yize had done to her, but betrayal could take up many different forms.
Or what if she did something stupid and ended up making Kang Jun hate her?
There were so many possibilities... but really, what did any of that even matter. The future was not something she could predict.
Lu AnLing sighed and then she held Kang Jun's hand, which laid on the gear shift.
She didn't need to say a word. Just by that action, Kang Jun knew her decision.
Hand in hand the couple walked into the bureau and then, in no time at all, they walked out.
Lu AnLing was shocked by how quickly the process had taken and also that she had gotten married to someone she hadn't known long but as she walked out with him by her side she wasn't feeling uncomfortable in the slightest. At first, she began to wonder if she was daydreaming again, but as she held their marriage certificate in hand, feeling the smoothness, she knew that everything was real.
She had legally become Mrs. Kang Jun…
Thinking of something, Lu AnLing turned to Kang Jun with her eyebrows knitted.
"We're not going to have a big wedding are we?"
Kang Jun shrugged. "If you don't want one, we don't need one."
"No, it's not about me wanting one or not… We're married now, we should make important decisions together."
Despite getting married due to convenience, Lu AnLing wanted to do marriage properly. According to Kang Jun, he only wanted to do marriage once and Lu AnLing was no different.
Kang Jun: "I don't think right now is the best time to hold a wedding, mostly when it comes to finding out what happened to your child but if you want a wedding, I don't care how extravagant you want it to be, I'll make sure you have the wedding of your dreams."
Kang Jun reached for her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. Feeling his touch, Lu AnLing's hand and face felt as if they had been set on fire..
Lu AnLing: "F-for now I think that it's best to keep our relationship hidden."
Hearing this, Kang Jun didn't frown. He only nodded and said,
"I understand but we must tell my grandfather and he will surely inform my grandmother. Everyone else is irrelevant for now but there is a chance that they will figure it out in one way or another."
"Yes… " Lu AnLing agreed before she and Kang Jun boarded his black Maybach. "I should probably tell my grandmother, also. Since I came back she's always being pushy about me getting married. And if I tell my grandmother I'm sure she'll tell my grandfather also."
Kang Jun: "We'll only tell the elders then?"
Lu AnLing nodded.
"Should I go introduce myself to your grandparents today?"
Lu AnLing's face paled.
If she showed up at the hospital with Kang Jun, in front of all of her relatives, she was sure that all hell would break loose. Not only because of Kang Jun, since she was sure none of them knew how the man looked like, but because she had gotten married.
Plus, she had almost forgotten how much her grandmother had insulted the Kang's. This situation could end up being complicated.
"N-no. Not today, I'll need to speak to my grandmother first… " Lu AnLing scratched her head. "You know, to ease her into the shock."
Kang Jun smiled.
"Then should we go meet my grandfather?"
Hearing Kang Jun say this, Lu AnLing furiously shook her head no. She wasn't ready to do anything of the sort.
Lu AnLing: "Some other time."
Kang Jun took Lu AnLing's hand.
"When we do go, there will be nothing for you to worry about because I'll be there."
Lu AnLing had no idea what to reply to this sentence, so instead, she silently continued to blush before muttering.
"Okay."

When they entered his room, Kang Jun closed the door behind him with a slam.
Lu AnLing who had been walking in front of him the whole time had entered the man's room without a second thought before she turned her gaze to the man who still stood tall by the door.
Lu AnLing wasn't sure why she had come into Kang Jun's room. Her plan was to just go back into her room and rest but for some reason, she didn't feel right leaving Kang Jun's side on the day they had gotten married.
"You're going to work today?" Lu AnLing asked.
Most people didn't go to work on Sunday but ever since Lu AnLing had been acquainted with Kang Jun, he was constantly busy.
"No."
Kang Jun took off his jacket, laid it onto a chair and then he rolled up his white sleeves before he turned his body to face her.
Kang Jun: "Today I'm not leaving you alone."
Hearing his words, Lu AnLing heart couldn't help but beat hard.
"Should we go get Mingyu now then?" Lu AnLing blurted out.
Kang Jun: "No. I've sent Mr. Long to get him. He's going to bring him to my villa."
Villa…?
For some reason, Lu AnLing thought the man's home was the hotel.
Kang Jun: "Speaking of my villa, I think it would be best for the both of us to live there, but if you still want to us to stay here I completely understand, though, we'll have to stay in the same room."
Lu AnLing didn't comment on the subject of living in his villa. Instead, she said,
"Do they know?"
Kang Jun: "Know?"
Lu AnLing gestured between the two of them.
Kang Jun laughed slightly. "Not yet. But they will."
