Percy Jackson: The Child Of War

"Again?" I asked, my voice resigned. "Again." He answered, his voice amused. And then I would forget, not to remember until I died again. Except this time, I did not. ___ I don't own Percy Jackson, really, I don't.

Chapter Twenty-One

"Luke! What the hell?!"

I shouted as I pulled him out of the way of one of the heads that was lunging at us. before I could even scan the surroundings with my eyes, another head was barreling towards us, trying to sink its death into our flesh.

My eyes narrowed, my divinity pooling in my palm as I shot my head forward, a gust of air pushing us away from the danger. Landing on the ground, I looked up, only to see what looked like a dragon, its scales shimmering and...

Was that Ladon?

Well shit, that was Ladon. How could I tell? The thing had a hundred heads. I couldn't even kill this thing, Hera would be pissed and that vindictive bitch would come for the camp if she couldn't get to me.

"Leonidas!"

Luke shouted and I glanced at him, waiting for him to explain, he did shout my name, but he didn't say anything... What? Did he think this was a movie or something?

Ladon roared, which was deafening, one hundred heads of a dragon, roaring with its version of divinity-enhanced voice.

I pressed a hand to Luke's chest, teleporting him back to camp as I blurred in a burst of speed from my location as a number of heads crashed where he and I were standing a second ago.

My eyes scanned the area, spotting the Hesperides and narrowing my eyes for a moment.

Feeling that Luke was safely back in the camp, I flared my Divinity again and felt my surroundings shift, the dragon disappearing along with the surrounds and the women and just as suddenly as I appeared in their garden, I was gone, rolling on the floor of my cabin.

My siblings were already up in arms, spears in hand as they looked at me and then to the side, where I assumed Luke was, probably trying to figure out what was happening.

I got up to my feet, dusting myself off, and turned to the blonde, raising an eyebrow as I saw him on the floor, looking up at the ceiling and... Oh shit, he was hyperventilating...

I sighed and walked over to him, kneeling and putting a hand gently to his chest, it could be the overload of foreign divinity in his system when I teleported him in a hurry, or the fact that he realized how close to death he was just a moment ago.

"Breathe."

I instructed, looking into his eyes that were darting around the room before zeroing in on me. His hand shot out, gripping my arm in a death grip, like I was his only lifeline.

"Look at me, Luke. Breathe in..."

He nodded, taking in a shaky breath and closing his eyes.

"Breathe out..."

He released the air he held in his lungs. He was still shaking pretty badly, but he was calming down. I reached out with my divinity, connecting it to his and sucking out any traces of mine that were left behind from the teleporting.

"Listen to my voice, Luke, you're safe, I'm here, we're back at the camp..."

He nodded again, dropping his head back down onto the floor, and kept taking deep breaths, I kept an eye on him, making sure to disconnect my divinity from his own carefully, but keeping my hand on his chest since he was still gripping it tightly.

I hummed, raising an eyebrow at him for a moment, my eyes trailing over the new scar on his face. Must have been nicked by Ladon.

His eye would have to be healed if it was damaged as well...

The door of the cabin slammed open as one of my siblings brought in a child of Apollo. The slightly older teen rushed inside, looking at Luke for a moment before kneeling down next to him, on the other side of his body as his hands glowed slightly.

The cabin was silent for a moment as we waited for him to finish, halfway through, some other people came inside. Chiron and Dionysus arrived with two of my siblings, who brought in Nectar and Ambrosia, along with some ice and a cold towel, just in case.

Chiron looked worried while Dionysus looked mildly interested.

"No internal damages, he's just in shock... What happened, Leo?"

I sighed, shrugging as I looked up at the child of Apollo.

"It was Ladon, Phillip, he nearly died."

He sucked in a breath through his teeth as his hands moved to Luke's eye as the glow intensified.

Well... It was a good thing Thalia was asleep now. I doubt she would have stayed calm in a situation like this.

I raised my hand and ambrosia was handed to me as Phillip moved his hands away, the wound closed already, leaving behind a scar. He helped with Sitting Luke up since both my hands were preoccupied.

I raised the ambrosia to his lips, that he didn't open. I deadpanned and, naturally, forced it into his mouth after Phillip opened his mouth for me.

That would heal the eye itself, in case it was damaged.

Well... All's well that ends well...

Sorry for the late upload, I'm moving back to the city my University is in since it's starting in a few days, while I'm on the road I'm rewriting and fixing a few things about my story plan since I don't have any wifi during the multiple back and forth drives.

There are two more chapters on my Pa-Tre-On page, and the chapters will be getting longer since what was given to us in the before the story started is practically over and I will have free reign over the story for a bit.

I'll be posting chapters more frequently after the 23rd since that's the day I the university will start and I'll be in my new apartment, sorry for the inconveniance.
