Chapter 9 - Seven Slaughters Art

Yu Weiyuan let out a heavy breath, then waved his hand, a space ring on his index finger flashing.

With the gesture appeared a majestic-looking halberd in the young man's right hand.

The halberd was seven feet long, with a five foot long shaft and a two feet long blade.

Both the shaft and blade had a pale white colour, as if they were made out a bone. Only some golden ornaments didn't share the same tint.

The shaft had engravings of swirling and soaring True Dragons on its surface. Each of the etchings of beasts breathed with unfathomable power blessing the weapon, particularly blessing its supremely sharp edge.

The sight of the divine halberd even squeezed out a word out of Elder Kong's spiritual mouth, though his tone stayed apathetic.

"The Dragon Slaying Halberd."

Elder Yao emotionlessly added: "This is your Lifebound Artefact, refined from the spine of a Nascent Soul Realm Flood Dragon you killed in the Dragon Tomb Secret Realm six years ago."

Yu Weiyuan only smiled eerily.

"You will learn to fear its edge..."

With his words, the monstruously deep Killing Intent he had restrained within him ever since his Master's death burst out of his body, spreading wide streams of Murderous Qi in the air.

KRAAAACK!!!

The sky darkened and thunder rumbled, as if Heaven and Earth themselves reacted to Yu Weiyuan's desire to kill.

Red-black Murderous Qi shrouded the skies and Killing Intent overturned the earth. Only Yu Weiyuan and the two Elders remained still.

At least until Yu Weiyuan made his move.

[Seven Slaughters Art]

[First Slaughter: Execution]

He waved his Dragon Slaying Halberd towards the Elders, making the streams of Murderous Qi converge towards its edge, launching a blade of red-black killing energy towards them.

The killing blade slashed the air, tearing space in its trail, leaving small cracks in the void.

[Ice Shield]

Ice Qi converged to form a frost shield as sturdy as spiritual metals before Elder Yao.

SLASH!

It did nothing but slightly weaken the blade as a clean cut divided the middle-aged woman's protection in two before cutting her, leaving a bloody gash beginning from her right shoulder and finishing down her left hip.

Elder Yao spat a mouthful of blood as her vitality continuously diminished as the Murderous Qi in Yu Weiyuan's attack corroded her body from her wound.

Elder Kong who had remained behind her had a slight trace of shock on his ghostly face.

"This technique... It does not come from the Profound Heaven Sect." His ethereal brows furrowed. "Such killing arts would never be included in its inheritance."

A sneer marred Yu Weiyuan's face as his irises had turned scarlet due to his Killing Intent. "Pathetic."

"You have eyes but can't see the Essence."

"How can the Seven Slaughters Art not come from the Profound Heaven Sect?"

"IT WAS CREATED BY THEIR NEW SECT MASTER AFTER ALL!!!" He loudly laughed, each word he pronounced tainted by Killing Intent.

[First Slaughter: Execution]

He waved his Dragon Slaying Halberd once more, sending another decapitating blade of Murderous Qi in Elder Yao's direction.

[Frost Walk]

Elder Yao quickly reacted, forming an frosty road in the air, skidding on ice, being akin to drifting snowflakes, elusive and ethereal.

But while the malevolent killing blade didn't manage to slice her as she managed to dodge with her swift escape, Elder Yao still got separated from Elder Kong.

'This is an opportunity!!!' Yu Weiyuan exclaimed, the scarlet hue of his eyes nearly saturating in killing desire.

His Spiritual Sea roiled and churned, sending waves of golden Qi to his legs, blessing them with unnatural strength.

He flexed his leg muscles hard, gathering both the power of his Qi and his mysteriously mighty physical body as he stepped on the air so hard he left cracks in the void, lauching himself with a supremely powerful momentum towards Elder Kong.

Only one step sufficed to Yu Weiyuan in order to reach his ennemy as he started to stimulate his Nine-Coloured Nascent Soul, gathering his Soul Power.

[Second Slaughter: Killing Spirit]

Between Yu Weiyuan's brows formed a spiritual and ethereal sword created from the amalgamation of his Soul Power and Killing Intent. It had taken the familiar baleful red-black hue as it shot out towards the defenseless Elder Kong.

He formed layers upon layers of Soul Power Walls with the strength of his Primordial Spirit, but each time the soul sword tip touched a wall, the Killing Intent from it corroded it, rendering its defense nearly null.

Each time a wall collapsed, Elder Kong's Primordial Spirit weakened and a heart-creeping despair started to wrench out his Spirit, whispering to him the futility of struggling against death itself.

While he could ignore the despair the attack induced because of the Emotion Severing Sutra he had cultivated, the weakening of his Primordial Spirit hindered him as he failed to compete with the advance of the soul sword.

CRACK!!!

The last soul wall broke, stunning Elder Kong in the process, leaving vulnerable to the spiritual killing sword that pierced the space between his brows.

From the sword spread tendrils of Killing Intent that slithered like bood vessels onto Elder Kong's translucent Primordial Spirit, overwhelming his spiritual form with reddish Soul Power, killing him from the insides until it shattered completely.

Leaving Elder Kong dead.

Here is another chapter, bestowed by your beloved author's divine grace! Jokes aside, the fight should end in another chapter. After that the novel will start to take a slower pace and I will begin to introduce the structure of the Sect gradually!
