Chapter 126- Old man Jian.

Chapter 126

He felt happy and some envy too. Long feng's talent had simply thrown all the so called geniuses far behind.

Lord Yi Ming then remembered that Long feng was once rumored to possess no talent. If he didn't have any talent for cultivation, then how was his cultivation so high then?

Lord Yi Ming had no doubt that Long feng's talent was comparable to that of the legendary profound martial deity of the past!

"My progress is just so-so." Long feng sighed.

The corners of Lord Yi Ming's mouth twitched and he almost spat blood after hearing that.

[You damn brat! You call this progress as not satisfactory? If I had half of your talent, would I even need to cultivate so arduously? Won't I just relax and I will still leave the so called geniuses to eat my dust?]

He gritted his teeth till they almost cracked.

"Brat, you can leave." He spat before Long feng really made him die of envy and frustration.

Long feng sighed again and walked out of the palace.

Staring at his back until he left, Lord Yi Ming also sighed.

[Now I understand what is meant by the saying 'the heavens are blind'. The heavens really are blind!] He thought.

Long feng left the core court and went straight to his pavilion. He had to prepare for his battle as although he was confident, he didn't dare to look down on Han Man. He had to make sure that he was at his best condition before the battle.

Immediately after returning to his room, he sat down on his bed and closed his eyes, sinking into a deep state of meditation.

The days slowly passed.

One day…

Two days…

Five days…

Six days…

Early in the morning on the seventh day, Long feng who was seated on his bed without moving suddenly opened his eyes. He remained seated for a while until he organized his thoughts before leaving his room and having a bath, after which he changed into a set of dark blue robes, feeling refreshed.

Upon leaving his pavilion, he noticed that the atmosphere of the sect was not quite right. The whole sect seemed solemn and silent. Before he could figure out why happened though, he heard someone shouting his name.

Looking up, he spotted Yan Jian rushing over.

"Brother feng!" Yan Jian arrived beside him.

"Why is the sect so silent?" Long feng asked. Usually, the sect was very lively and full of people. Today was different though. There was not a single soul in sight.

"Of course it is silent. Almost all the disciples of the sect headed to the grand arena of Gan yu city!" Yan Jian replied.

"Grand arena?" Long feng frowned.

"Hm. It is managed by Jianhai clan and only top level battles occur there. The sect spread the news of your fight against Han Man and the whole city and beyond are aware of it. The battle would take place in the grand arena. The battle is going to begin at noon because the representatives of the sects in other cities have yet to arrive and will only arrive at noon" Yan Jian explained.

Long feng felt like the situation was getting tricky.

"So the entire province is aware that I am fighting Han Man?" He asked.

Yan Jian looked away.

"Well, actually, the whole province knows that Han Man wants to beat up an arrogant boy who rashly challenged him to a battle" he replied.

Long feng widened his eyes.

"That was what the sect spread out?" He asked.

Yan Jian nodded.

At that, Long feng gritted his teeth,

"They went too far. Now I will definitely defeat Han Man and slap them right in their face!" He snarled. "Alright. I will set out by noon then." Long feng added, regaining his calm in an instant.

"I will wait for you then" Yan Jian replied and left for his pavilion.

Long feng stood there pondering for a while before he leisurely walked back to his room and laid down to rest. Seeing his carefree posture, one wouldn't think of him as the same person who would have a huge battle in a few hours.

When it was noon, he set out in tow with Yan Jian. Li yu'er didn't even find it necessary to come along and she remained in her pavilion.

In a certain valley in the center of Gan yu city, a fifty meter wide battle arena stood. A white light surrounded the arena making it look beautiful. The light barrier was actually a protective formation to prevent the energy ripples from hurting the viewers.

Around the arena were raised platforms which were placed in steps. That was where the viewers would sit, and all the platforms were already cramped up to the brim with people. Most of them who came late had nowhere to sit and could only stand. But that did nothing to diminish the lively atmosphere of the grand arena. The arena was so noisy that one had to shout while speaking.

On the highest viewing platform, dozens of middle aged and old men and women sat on chairs with tables between them. Some maids brought exquisite foods and wines and set them down on the tables.

These group of people were actually the elders and representatives of the various Yang level sects of the province. Even Jianhai clan sent some representatives!

It could be seen that the news of this battle had really sent a wave of excitement across the province!

A certain old man was particularly conspicuous among these group of elders because they all surrounded him like stars around a moon. The man had a calm countenance with white hair, beard and even his brows were white! Although he looked old, his eyes were bursting with vitality.

He was Jian Yu Luo, mostly known as old man Jian. He was a high elder of Jianhai clan with a cultivation of the eight Yang realm!

Even the Mortal heaven sect's Sect Master was very respectful to this man. All of the elders even came over and paid their respects to him.

Old man Jian was quite a drinker, and after drinking a few dozen bottles of wine, his cheeks had taken a faint reddish hue.

"Brother Chang! Isn't it time for the battle to begin? This old man is itching to witness a good fight!" Old man Jian laughed.

The Mortal heaven sect's Sect Master smiled.

"It will begin in a while. Old man Jian doesn't need to worry. The battle will naturally be satisfying" he replied.

Old man Jian nodded and opened a new wine bottle and gulped half the content down at once.
