It Looks like Athena was considering Desmond's question for no more than three seconds before flapping her wings and with disconcerting speed, she appear right in front of Desmond again.

But instead of throwing herself at him again, Athena just watched him closely with curiosity, she seemed to lose herself for a moment as she looked into Desmond's eyes before getting a little closer putting her face right next to Desmond's face, and sniffing like a puppy.

Given her animal behavior, there wasn't much that Desmond could do but wait for the girl to finish whatever she was doing.

Soon Athena withdrew for just a moment while her eyes were still fixed on Desmond, with her cute little face moving at every moment, Desmond had to admit that this gesture, although similar to birds in general; when it was Athena who did it she seemed infinitely adorable.
