Paragon Of Death

This is the story of a youth who attained peak strength in all three cultivation pathways: soul, energy, and body, due to a one-of-a-kind event that gave him the talent to cultivate them when he was twenty years old.   All of this occurred in a universe ruled by God. But after that unique event, he traveled to another universe with his own harem.   But does everything proceed as planned?   This is the tale of a transmigrated youth who wanted power. Not for godhood nor immortality.   He'd do all in his power to become Death itself!   === Notice: This is the first novel of mine, the second one is [Rise Of The Nefarious Devil]. The maim point for these is that this novel would be around seeking questions about what death is, while the other novel about what good and evil is.

Adel nodded, then said, "I'll need to strengthen my connection with the two pathways. So, please excuse me. "

The beast nodded, stood up, and walked out of the room.

Adel would not, of course, just go ahead and strengthen his connection with the pathway.

It wasn't that this connection would make his foundation firmer, because he knew it had nothing to do with the first plane.

The next plane wouldn't be one where he'd be as weak to the other cultivators as an ant.

He'd be at least on par with small sect patriarchs or matriarchs. It could be more, but he didn't have any information on the first plane.

Adel shook his head to clear his mind before taking on a new illusionary formation with his newfound knowledge.

He began running around, creating a hexagonal-like formation with his soul energy by placing several spatial nodes in the surrounding area.

A formation required a set of flags, but Adel's knowledge of formations wasn't so plain...

It granted him the ability to convert his soul energy into spatial nodes the size of a small flag.

It required a significant amount of soul energy. But it was ideal for him because he could even use Tier 6 spells, let alone illusionary formations.

However, he needed to rest to get back the mental strength. He also needed to get beaten by some beasts later on.

The beast from before was momentarily taken aback when it noticed Adel making strange movements here and there before disappearing into thin air, opening his mouth so wide that an egg could fit inside.

It sighed, shook its head, decided not to think too much, and placed it on the "as-expected about this human" list it could think of...

It then decided to sit somewhere and feel the connection with the pathway. Since this was one of the only several times it'd ever been here, it would benefit more by absorbing energy, nourishing itself, and attempting to step higher...

-

Meanwhile, Adel was strengthening his connection with the pathway, but only to the point where it wouldn't bind him.

The connection with the pathways would bind the cultivator to it, preventing him or her from ascending to a higher plane if they did so.

It was similar to the heavens in some novels he had read in the past; they would give cultivators energy to cultivate, and in turn, would bind the cultivator to it, so he or she wouldn't ascend to something higher than it.

Of course, the main characters in said novels always find a way to ascend to a higher plane, freeing themselves from the bind that was placed on them when they were too weak to notice it.

All the cultivators in the said novel would have their consciousness start feeling the bind once they reached a certain realm, but it wasn't them that were aware of it.

It was something like a subconcious thought that made the other cultivators ignore it, but noticeable to the main characters, who were, in this case, children born with immense white karmic stars, making them encounter a lot of fortunate events, while encountering dark karmic stars right afterwards to keep their balance between sins and good virtue.

Such things happened to the immortal-like existences back in God's universe, but dimensions rather than planes.

Immortality still exists in this universe. It was, however, even more flawed than that of God's universe...

-

A few hours later, Adel had finished strengthening his connection with the pathway to the point where he felt the pathway would bind him in some way if he advanced any further.

He had the chance of assembling more energy from the pathway from his current connection to raise his cultivation, but he chose not to.

It was only a day or so ago when he last broke through, after all.

He needed a more solid foundation for his body and energy. One of decent quality.

He wasn't familiar with the foundations' tiers, but he didn't pay much attention to them because they weren't vital for his current knowledge (at the sixth step).

As such, he would come to regret it if he advanced too quickly in his cultivation. And he wasn't the type to put off dealing with problems in the future in favor of immediate assistance.

It would give him great strength if he continued breaking through higher steps, but once he reaches the fifth step—the one that requires putting the laws of the world on the soul, body, and dantian—his foundation would be shaken, and he would be unable to bear the burden of fusing the world's laws on them.

-

He sighed, stood up, and pondered whether to leave right away with the beast or stay in the formation, but decided to stay in the end.

He needed to better organize his current knowledge of mind-manipulation arts. He didn't get the chance before, as right after finishing the books, he came right away with the beast.

-

It took him about 3 hours to finish organizing his thoughts. He guessed it was late at night, and that was about the time he promised Katrina he'd return to the clan.

'What a fruitful day!' Adel sighed inwardly, forgetting he hadn't spoken to himself in four days, but shook his head and pushed that thought to the back of his mind before standing up...

-

After he deactivated the illusionary formation, he decided with the beast the time and place of where they would meet, which was some day around next week, at noon.

It was enough time to go to the other professions' alliances that existed, according to his knowledge.

And he finally decided it was time to send a soul curse to Damon, as he realized he'd nearly forgotten him, and he would've brought trouble to him if he were to ignore him.

Cursing wasn't one of the twelve known professions, but just a type of art, similar to mind-manipulation, that harmed the other party through their energy fluctuations, or personal things such as nails, hair strands, etc.

That was why Adel avoided leaking his energy fluctuations. He knew that he'd messed up some times in the past with his battle with Falco, but he wouldn't do the same in future battles...

-

Adel came to a halt in a remote place as he remembered Damon's energy fluctuations signature before launching a simple soul attack in the form of a curse.

Soul attacks, or curses, could only be performed by those who were well-versed in the soul. Adel wasn't before, but now he could directly attack the consciousness part of the soul.

However, Damon was a body cultivator, so he had no way of protecting himself from this soul attack.

Simple soul attacks would make one think they 'killed' the opponent. But what happens is that their souls are sent to 'limbo' to go through the karmic judgement.

So, Adel directly sent a curse to Damon, albeit from this faraway distance, because his soul was powerful enough to handle the burden.

After the curse was sent, he continued on his way to go to Katrina's clan...
