The figure nodded its head, as or continued:
"Hmm... You see, to repay it back, you have to get positive karma again and get rid of the gathered negative karma."
Adel was dumbfounded. He knew that he needed to get it. But was getting positive karma so simple? All the positive karma he'd gathered over his past body's hardships were used up.
So it should be incredibly hard to gather positive karma. Though that should the complete opposite for negative karma. After all, one can just r*pe and then receive an enormous amount of negative karma.
The figure nodded again, as it said:
"You see... Karma is employed not only separately, but also in expanding circles of karma groups where we partake in the sum karma of multiple souls.
This includes family, population, country, race and belief. As in example, if you were to individually, unconditionally love and give, you will be loved and given to as an exchange.
Saints, for the name that is, are those who dedicated themselves in aid to the needy, sick, to seem like 'holy heroes' that help the mortals.
Though in reality, they do such actions to accumulate positive karma and gain fortunate incidents throughout their lives, when they would be helping the mortals of course." The figure paused for a second, letting Adel digest its words.
It then continued:
"As a reminder from my past words, all supreme laws are fractions of something incredibly unique and mysterious that aren't limited to just 'laws'.
Anyway, back to the point. While the three pathways are, in someway, the sustainer of the supreme law of karma, They do not dispense individual karma.
As in example, it does not give a deadly disease to a cultivator for nothing, nor does it give cultivation talent to a mortal for nothing.
We, cultivators and mortals, create our own fates, and our own chances depending on one's karma.
As a faint amount of knowledge, enough to not bring hidden dangers upon you; fate is changeable by cultivators, but it takes a small amount of time before that said fate becomes a predetermined destiny.
Destiny can't be changed. It is like a book, your life are the content written in it. It was already determined what would've happened to you.
For example, in God's universe, the world's destiny is to have a chaos cycle no matter what would occur, with God's powers as a medium. But that indirectly implied that the destiny of a person can be controlled..." The figure stopped for a moment, as it saw the shock in Adel's face.
Adel was frightened. Didn't that mean that someone could already be controlling his destiny behind the scenes, making him live the life he was living right now, then when he reaches a certain point of time he become a chess piece of that said person? Couldn't he be merely a few words in a book for that person, making his life entertainment for his boredom?
It was like mortals, and cultivators alike, except those immortal-like existences on God's universe. They believed that God controlled their destines through some means, indirectly making all their destiny be one: Either going to Hell or Heaven after death.
A determined expression appeared on his face. He didn't want to become a piece of chess for others! He didn't want anyone using him, then throwing him once he was bored of him! He wanted to control his own destiny by his own hands!
Though he remembered that his initial goal was death, making him doubt whether he wanted to continue on the path of seeking death or not.
But then, is death as in turning into nothingness worth it? Adel didn't know, but he felt a little discomfort on his heart as he thought of Katrina, even his harem members that could possibly be alive right now...
Is death as in disappearing from everyone's memories worth it? To him, it might seem the case if he were to be the same twelve year old mortal, who didn't have any attachments to everyone back then.
After all, he wanted to die more than nothing! He even got close to suiciding back then! But no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't bring himself the resolution to kill himself.
He knew that he didn't have a weak will, but it was just... There was something else in him, that gave him the last hope to live.
It was the will to live! It was the exact opposite of what he felt —the will to die.
It was opposing itself on his body, but at the end he only suppressed the will to die while holding firmly, by all his will, to that will that gave him hope to live.
Albeit Adel didn't know what the many types of wills there are, he knew two that were his own: The will to die that gave him dark, depressing, even suicidal thoughts, and the will to live that gave him the goal to travel the whole world, make a harem of his own that he'd loved wholeheartedly, and continue enjoying his life!
But although the will to die was suppressed, it always existed nonetheless; making Adel have that will to die on his head the moment he stepped on this plane.
After all, he wasn't sure whether he would ever meet his harem again. So why hesitate? Just give up and die!
Which soon gave birth to a goal from his will to die: the will to find a way to turn into nothingness, and disintegrate his whole soul, thus reading his whole being from all others' memories.
But... His will to live right now was making that goal stimulated by the will to die hesitate.
Souls were immortal... So could he really make what he wanted? And he knew he grew somewhat attached... even if it was a small amount... He could admit that he indeed had some... attraction towards Katrina.
So he was hesitating whether to choose his will to live or will to die...
The figure saw the hesitation on Adel's face, before it put out a smile that lasted a split second before it returned to the same monotone expression.
Though it secretly sent an extremely tiny amount of mysterious energy to his body, only helping his thoughts calm down and making him think from a decent view...
-
As soon as the energy entered Adel's body, he suddenly got a new idea. Why not use the two of them at the same time, and make harmony between the two?
He didn't know the process, it was only a thought. But as soon as it passed, he felt another idea go through his mind.
What is death in the first place? What could it be, if the soul was immortal?
As soon as that idea flashed through his head, the two wills that were on an ethereal form on Adel's mind soon began swirling rapidly around, forming a sign that was similar to: '☯'.
Adel found the sign familiar, but he didn't know whether his assumptions were true or not...
It could be either life and death, yin and yang, and other names he knew of. But he wasn't sure...
But he threw that thought to the back of his head for now, since it would be useless even if he find out with his current strength anyway.
He then focused on the idea he just got. -' What is true death? Could it be something else entirely than what everyone thought?'
His thoughts were moving around in his mind rapidly, as a few possibilities flashed through his head.
But no matter how much he thought, he still couldn't find what it was...
The figure finally started speaking, after noticing the confused expression on Adel's face:
"Alright... True death is... Well, you gotta find it yourself.
What, you think you would get all your answers easily?"
Adel was dumbfounded yet again, as he could've sworn he saw a smug look on the figure's face, but he shook his head, then he put a mental note on thinking more to what true death might be, before remembering his initial purpose before all his thoughts, making him put a determined expression on his face...
It was that he didn't want to controlled by others! He didn't want to be a chess piece of anyone's plans! He wanted to have his own destiny in his own hands, not in others'!
So, he put another mental note on learning the destiny supreme law, while also seeing having a small thought, that was planted in his head, in controlling all supreme laws due to them being originated from a mysterious and powerful thing that could make him stronger...
