In the conference room, only Logan and Emily were left facing off.
Alex, worried about Emily, stayed close to her, ready to protect her from any sudden moves Logan might make.
"Emily," Logan pleaded, making a last-ditch effort, "Tell me, what do you want me to do to make you forgive me?"
Emily's expression was cold, devoid of any emotion. "Mr. Morgan, don't you know that killing someone means paying with your life? That's just the way it is."
Logan argued, "Your mother was already hemorrhaging badly. Even if I hadn’t given up on treatment, she might not have survived! You can’t put all the blame on me, right?"
Not blame him entirely?
Emily sneered. "So, you're saying my mom was just doomed to die from childbirth complications?"
