When he heard what Aaron asked, Carl put more focus on the question than the aura of the Aaron.
This was because he finally started to realize what this was all about. The cogs in his mind started to roll and the stars had aligned in the sky.
Although it was not reported in NEWS stations, aliens or UFOs were a common topic in this world. However, the reality of their existence was naturally dismissed by the general public as nothing but fiction stories or delusional hearsays, but some people still believed they were real and there continues to be stories and reported sightings.
The usual concurrence was that it was just monsters, or maybe mutated ones, but that might not be right.
There were alien stories dating even centuries ago. There were recordings on the Internet of the sightings of what were supposed to be aliens; a belt of lightning coming down the skies, charred ground, and disappearing humans.
Some believed it might just be the work of human mages in the end.
Flashing in his mind, Carl could remember the original Carl once looking it up on the internet, and now that he thought about it, these alien stories were most likely talking about otherworlders.
The fat boy sighed inwardly.
'This means there are otherworlders like me in this world, and based on the MA's actions, some are not very friendly.'
Seeing his silence, the tension in the room became even heavier and this was not a result of the simple development of the conversation. There was now a sharper almost suffocating aura coming from Aaron that was alarming his body system.
The man kept the same face and mannerisms but he had completely turned to a different person. It was like the air around his body could even injure him.
"What is your answer, Carl Craze?" Aaron said, not joking any longer, his cold eyes staring at him like prey.
Carl instinctively gauged his chances of fighting Aaron, but immediately turned down the crazy thought. Shaking his head internally, he knew that Aaron Deer's power was beyond what he can handle!
He could not pinpoint his rank due to their power gap, but Aaron was definitely an existence that could even rule a small city in his world. If the man wished to, he could behead him at this very moment.
Carl cursed in his mind. Who knew he will get himself caught right as he arrived in this world?
'Normally, don't characters in stories get to explore the world?' Carl sighed and relaxed the muscles in his face. Then he looked at Aaron's face without batting an eyelash. He was no longer playing the scared character.
This was the first time he had shown his serious face since he had arrived in Earth and this change in his attitude made Aaron even more expectant of his answer, who had dealt with numerous otherworlders in the past, so he knew almost all of them were very exciting!
Carl Craze was not a different case! He knew what he was capable of. Only that he had witnessed him firsthand of how the world and his new body had stripped him of most of his original pool of mana immediately as he arrived.
After thinking hard, Carl answered.
"I am not an enemy."
Hearing this, Aaron instantly released the tension he was creating and the mood in the room finally turned back to normal.
"That's boring." He said plainly.
But based on his judgment, Carl seemed genuine with his words.
"You're boring."
Aaron continued nodding his head in agreement and finally stood up, turning back to his usual character.
"I won't bother you anymore then. It was a shame this was very diplomatic, wasn't it?"
"What?" Carl awkwardly laughed.
Stretching his hand, Aaron then opened his mouth and squeezed his hand again to get his attention, "The MA has a certain protocol for otherworlders to make sure they're not going out of control. So they will always have their eyes on you so decide carefully with your future matters."
Carl did not reply and just smiled bitterly. He knew that would most likely be the case.
"Mm. Let's hope to see each other more in the future."
'Why is that?'
Carl internally chuckled at how that could happen, and just received the pleasantry, as Aaron did the same.
After this, Aaron started to leave the room.
'"Welcome to Earth," Aaron simply echoed just as he left.
"…"
Sighing, Carl massaged his forehead as he groaned in emotion and sauntered onto the window.
The fresh air swept past through his huge body, and then he looked onto the distance, witnessing for the first time where he was actually. There was a very advanced city filled with endless buildings and high-tech vehicles reflecting in his deep blue eyes.
"Earth, huh?"
While he was busy talking with Samuel and Aaron, Carl finally finished organizing the memories in his head and was left in surprise.
He was in a world called Earth, and was currently in the blooming city of Fieres, one of the biggest cities in the nation, which was originally constructed for the purpose of defending against monsters in the wilderness.
The structure he was in right now was a ten-floor hospital, where most of the sick patients in the city go to. He was taken here by the MA themselves probably after learning that his identity was a level 1 acolyte who was studying in River Mage Academy, who had the same owner as the hospital.
The language of this world was perfectly similar to his former world which also spoke English for the majority of the population.
There were also mages and monsters in this world. But somehow, there were also otherwordlers like him who came from another world, which were the most shocking thing to learn.
But there was more to this world.
From the clothing of the people, the structure of the buildings, and the state of the technology and machinery, it was a world that was light years ahead of where he came from.
