Matthew Taylor gazed at Emma Hart's wide, startled eyes, finding himself enchanted by her innocent and adorable demeanor. An uncontrollable urge to kiss her surged within him.

Slowly, he leaned closer to Emma Hart.

"Mr. Taylor! No!" Emma Hart sensed something amiss and quickly placed her hand on his chest, turning her head away.

Matthew Taylor snapped out of his trance at her rejection, quickly stepping back and slapping himself lightly.

"I'm sorry, Emma. I didn't mean to." Matthew Taylor apologized.

They both stared in different directions, lost in their own thoughts.

Suddenly, a noise came from Damien Sterling's direction. Emma Hart prepared to stand up and walk over to him.

Matthew Taylor grabbed her wrist.

"Please let go, Mr. Taylor," Emma Hart said coldly, the memory of his earlier inappropriate behavior still vivid.
