Fear of Thunder

Emma only felt a severe headache gripping her. "I'm so cold," she murmured.

Swiftly, Damien shed his coat and draped it over Emma, pulling her closer as they moved towards the car. 

The rain persisted, the black Maybach vanishing like a comet into the misty street's end.

Leaning against Damien, Emma buried her head in his chest. 

Her strength was fading, and despite her consciousness and the clear awareness of her proximity to Damien, an unwillingness tugged at her heart, but she was powerless to resist.

"Turn the heater up, maximum," Damien commanded, his voice tinged with restless concern. "And make it quick."

With his right hand comforting Emma, his left dialed a number. "Call Dr. Smith over!" 

Dr. Smith, receiving the call, felt the urgency in Damien's tone and rushed to the Sterling mansion, not daring to delay even in the stormy night.
