Not long after, before Mrs. Harris had a chance to bring the porridge to the door, Emma Hart had already fallen asleep again due to exhaustion. Damien Sterling continued to hold her.

"Knock, knock!" The bedroom door was knocked, and a hoarse female voice came from outside,

"Mrs. Turner, your porridge is ready!" Mrs. Harris was standing outside the bedroom with a bowl of freshly cooked porridge.

"Come in," Damien Sterling called softly towards the door.

Mrs. Harris pushed the door open and saw that the little patient, who had been clamoring for porridge earlier, was already asleep.

"Just leave it there," Damien Sterling motioned for Mrs. Harris to place the porridge on the desk.

Mrs. Harris put the porridge on the desk and then quietly left, gently closing the door behind her.
