“Was it better than before?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Then, when I tell you you did it well, was I correct?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Do we agree that right and wrong is totally different from good or bad?”
“Yes, sir.”
Charlie walked around her and stopped in front.
“Good. I’m glad we agree. Now, something else.” He stared deeply into her eyes “Do you trust me?”
“No, sir,” Cam replied. “I trust no one.”
“Then how do you know what I teach you is correct?” He stood back
Cam hesitated. Was this another trick question?”
“I’ll answer for you,” Charlie continued. “You know it’s correct because you’ve thought about it and analyzed it. You trust that. Yes?”
Cam still hadn’t moved. “Yes, sir.”
“There will be times when you will have to put a certain amount of trust in someone. Someone to watch your back. Someone to be on your side. Someone to help you play your part. Yes?”
Cam licked her lips. Was he telling her to ignore the rules?
