CHAPTER 116

XAVIER'S POV

This seemed unreal. I was standing in front of Nicole. Right in front my sister. And I couldn't get myself to move. What was it that was stopping me?

The fear that she still hated me for ruining our family?

Or was it the fear that she wasn't okay.

She was resting her head between her knees, like she was asleep. She didn't even care to look up. Was she so done with this life?

I heard her scrappy voice, as she asked the supposed guard to leave her food on the table. 

I felt Ophelia touch my shoulder, as she came up close to me. Her face was concerned, but I couldn't feel her hand. It felt like all my senses had just given up on me, What was this feeling?

Being so overwhelmed by your fear that you stop feeling anything. 

"That's your sister, Xavier." 

I heard her whisper near my ears, but I couldn't open my mouth to answer her. My head was filled with questions. 

Was she going to be okay?
