After she finished the IV drip, Xie Li tucked her in, careful to wipe her sweat.
He moved to a distant corner with his phone and made a call to Zhao Jingyan.
"Hello, Xie Li, how is she?" Zhao Jingyan asked anxiously. Today they had gone back to their hometown for a meal with their parents. When he left the dining table hastily, Zhao Jingyan guessed it had something to do with this girl.
As expected, his anxious inquiry in the garden confirmed Jingyan's suspicion that the girl might be in premature labor.
In their many years of acquaintance, she had never seen Xie Li so out of sorts.
"It was a caesarean section, but both mother and child are safe," He answered, recalling her lifeless appearance when she had been wheeled out of the operating room. Drained, he pleaded, "I need your help. Can you lend me your nanny? She is not doing well and might need some people to take care of her."
As a man, he couldn't possibly do all that and would need someone experienced to assist.
