CHAPTER 59

Mishek Kaunda (POV)

“….. what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger …” I hummed a song as I stir-fried the vegetables on the gas stove.

After a long day at work, what soothes me a lot when he wasn’t there with me was cooking.

Cooking was stress relieving and with the knowledge that the food I would be cooking would be eaten by him later, the joy would be doubled.

It’s been a hectic week. With the Easter celebrations taking everyone’s attention, I couldn’t even spend time with my husband.

It was actually frustrating to know that the person I married spent more time with his ex-wife than me, his current spouse.

I understood that it would be suspicious if people started questioning our relationship, but can’t I be with my husband?

I couldn’t even go to his church or call him at will. If I did and something went wrong, I wouldn’t forgive myself. Before I could even forgive myself, that woman would kill me first and I still wanted to keep my life.
