Boar Hunt

The gigantic boar had three pairs of metallic tusks that glinted in the light as it charged towards the group trampling everything in its way, sending big pieces of tree flying everywhere. The ground beneath the beast shook with each of its steps and its loud roar sent all the animals in the area into a panic.

-" Focus!" Irelia shouted once again as she knocked another arrow, this time aimed at the beast's legs, but, unfortunately, her arrow bounced off the boar's thick hide.

The boar's charge was unstoppable as it barrelled towards Irelia, she had to make a split-second decision - to fight or flee.

Irelia bit her lips and began to sprint to the left, she waved her hands trying her best to attract the boar's attention. " Don't fight it on open land!" She knew that they would be at a disadvantage if they fought there.

Simon finally woke up from his daze and grabbed Mathew by the collar, dragging him to the same location that Irelia had run. " I will try to stop him! You two focus on taking him down." He threw Mathew to the side and turned around, ready to meet the beast face to face.

Yet, the beast's strength was too great and it kept pushing Simon forward, sending him crashing into numerous trees. Despite being pushed back, Simon kept hold of the tusk and held firm, slowly making causing the boar to come to halt.

Irelia didn't waste this opportunity and somersaulted between the threes, and knocked on her bow an arrow that shone brightly green. " Take this!" Wind gales surge as the arrows flew to the beast's skull, causing the foliage of the trees around her to shake violently.

Simon, who had been struggling to maintain his grip on the tusk, felt a momentary relief as Irelia's arrow pierced the boar's hide. The gigantic beast howled in pain and shock his tusk, sending Simon soaring through the air and into a large oak tree.

-" Simon!" Mathew finally reacted and jumped to his feet, yet, he found himself unable to move as fear completely dominated him.

-" Mathew! You need to help!" Irelia knocked another arrow on her bow and was about to shoot it when the boar lunged at her.

Mathew shook off his fear and charged forward, barreling into the boar, he held his spear tightly as he braced for impact.

The boar was caught off guard and sent a kick toward Mathew, who quickly lunged to the ground, and thrust his spear deep into the beast's underbelly, barely causing a scratch.

However, Mathew's momentary bravery was all that Irelia needed, and she jumped back while shooting another enchanted arrow. -" Gale Arrow!" Her technique this time was even more powerful, making the entire area around them rocket as heavy winds blasted in the direction of the boar.

The beast oinked in pain as the arrow pierced deeply into its snout, and was about to retreat when Simon jumped on its back and grasped the boar's tusk again.

-" Damned beast! You won't go anywhere." Simon shouted as he tightened his grip and yanked back on the tusk, causing the boar's front paws to rise.

Irelia and Mathew took their chance, and each one of them began a barrage of attacks, Irelia sending a flurry of arrows at the beast's face and neck, while Mathew continuously thrust the sides of the boar.

The beast kept howling in pain, the individual attacks weren't that damaging, but, the cumulative pain from both Irelia and Mathew's efforts was enough to make the boar flail in pain.

-" Let's finish this!" Irelia saw that Simon was barely holding on, and decided that it was time to put an end to the dammed boar.

She leaned back and focused all of her strength on her upcoming attack, a small vortex of wind formed on the arrow's head, and just before she was able to shoot it, another boar came out of the bushes, crashing into her.

Irelia felt her vision blurring, her left arm almost shattering from the impact of the second beast charge.

Simon lost his concentration as he saw Irelia flying away, and the gigantic boar used this opportunity to throw Simon out of his back.

Mathew watched everything in shock, just a few moments ago they had the absolute upper hand in the battle, but, the tables had suddenly turned. -" Fuck! Irelia!" He quickly sprinted towards Irelia, who looked to be in a worse condition, and with a swipe of his spear, he sent the second boar in retreat.

Irelia groaned in pain as she held her left arm, anxiety visibly taking shape on her face. -" I don't think that I can fight." She bit her lips in defeat, she could use a dagger, but, her body was in too much pain to go against the gigantic boar.

-" Can you at least run?" Mathew looked around and sighed in relief as he saw Simon getting up, and preparing for another bout with the gigantic boar. " If you can, run to the village and call Evan."

Irelia felt bad about running away, but, she didn't show any resistance, as it was clear that staying here would only cause the fight to be even more difficult. -" Okay..." She jolted up with a bit of effort and was about to run, however, the enraged oink of the gigantic boar made her turn back.,

The gigantic boar's eyes were completely red, and his already titanic body swelled even more as he charged in Mathew and Irelia's direction.

Mathew's face lost all color, he could dodge the charge, but, he knew that there was little to no chance for Irelia to escape. -" Come!" Mathew made up his mind and planted his feet firmly on the ground, gathering every single bit of QI he had in his body to meet the beast in one last standoff.

-" Mathew! What are you doing?" Simon was perplexed as he saw that Mathew chose to face the beast. " You will die! Escape!"

Mathew knew that he was outclassed by the boar's strength, after all, Simon was three stages higher than him, and not even he was able to completely stop the boar's charge. -" What other options do I have?" Mathew grinned as he hastily gathered his Qi on his arms and spear. " Even if I die, at least I can put a hole in the head of this dumb pig."

Mathew held back his anxiety and waited until the boar was just a few meters from him to finally make his thrust, his hand squeezing tightly on the shaft of the spear as he felt a sudden surge of Qi running through his body.

-" Is he breaking through?!' Simon watched a Qi surge towards Mathew like moths to a campfire, He couldn't hide his amazement as suddenly advancing a stage now was a heaven's gift for Mathew.

Mathew was completely oblivious to what was happening to his body and thought that his newfound strength was just a side effect of his concentration.

He could feel the power surge within his muscles, and with a loud roar, he launched himself forward, closing the gap between him and the boar in an instant, the shaft of his spear bent as it made contact with the thick boar's hide, making him put even more strength on his thrust.

The boar howled in fury as it felt the spearhead coated in Qi slowly penetrating the hide and fat cap under his skin, but, the beast didn't cower and continued to charge, smashing into Mathew's body.

Mathew shouted in pain, as one of the tusks of the boar pierced his thigh, yet, just like the beast, his determination didn't waver, and continued to hold tightly to the spear.

Mathew quickly changed the way he held the spear and continued to press it on the beast's head until he finally hit a hard object. -" Oh? It looks like I'm finally on the bone." Blood flowed out Mathew's mouth as he smiled and looked deep into the eyes of the boar, who tried to shake him away, but, Mathew held on firmly, and kept pushing his spear deep into the beast's skull until he felt the last breath of life escape from the boar's lungs.

Simon and Irelia were speechless as they watched the beast collapse on the ground, and rushed towards Mathew, who was still shaking from the adrenaline of the fight and struggled to get up from the ground, with his hands full of blood and sweat.

-" Are you... okay?" Simon gazed at the big hole on Mathew's left thigh and help him get up.

-" Could be better..." Mathew's eyes were full of pride as he looked at the dead boar, it never passed through his mind that he could one day hunt such a strong animal. " Are we taking this back to the village?" He laughed as he imagined how the villagers would react to seeing such a big beast.

-" Of course! This is a demonic beast!" Simon only now calmed down and observed the monster's corpse, even the blood of the beast could be considered miraculous. " We just need to find a way to bring it back." Simon sighed, as it looked like he had to drag the monster back alone, as Irelia and Mathew were too injured to help him.
