New World

Dylan felt himself falling through the void and, before he could make sense of what was happening, he felt like being ejected from the sea.

He landed sliding on rocky terrain, opening slightly the soles of his feet as he currently wore only a pair of black cargo.

He had the appearance of when he was in his early twenties, plus a few more scars. Long unkempt black hair, yellow eyes, and definite compact muscles.

Before he could make sense of the situation, he was hit with a weave of information that made him want to split his skull. In a circumference with a radius of 2 km, he could sense every living being, their emotion and, if he concentrate just a bit, he felt he could see what they would do.

But just as he adjusted himself, his brown boots flew out of the water, together with his brown belt and a dark brown/black coat with golden decorations.

The coat had 'Son of The Sea' written in English on the back in golden letters, at the height of the shoulder blades.

The first thing he put on was the belt. From one shoulder to the waist. It had four holders, three used by flintlock pistols, and the remaining one, the one near the waist, was occupied by a cutlass.

Before wearing the rest of his things, he turned to the people present who were already observing him for half a minute in silence.

"Hello there, gentlemen, ladies" greeted Dylan. There were eight people present.

Two of them were on their knees before other four of these people and an old man near the reef giving them his back, looking at Dylan from the corner of his eyes, like the two people on their knees.

The last one was on the deck of the ship a few meters from them.

"Is perhaps any of you The God of Freedom?" asked Dylan without waiting for an acknowledgment. Expectation written on his face. A short expectation as he could feel their emotion: confusion and shock.

'Well, if someone is shocked, someone knows something' thought Dylan turning towards the old man

"You know him, right?" he asked him

"Who told you of him?" asked, in turn, the old man.

Being answered with a question displeased the scarred man, but his hot-blooded years were just memories of his youth.

"The God of The Sea told me" he decided to answer honestly. This answer caused shock and even more confusion to grow in those present.

"That's his mark, isn't it?" voiced the green-haired man pointing at Dylan's back with his chin.

Concentrating enough, Dylan could *see* the glowing head of a blue trident.

"I suppose" he replied

"He disappeared 800 years ago" stated the old men.

'So one of these people will get me to him?' thought the scarred man. He didn't even consider The Sea God lying to him or even being wrong.

"Your god left you here?" questioned again the old man

"Mhm"

"Mhmm..." Dylan remained in silence, like the rest, observing the humming old man

"Is this your mission? To find him?"

"No, no mission. I suppose this is a reward. He did say I am his favorite child of the last few centuries..." Dylan responded to the old man

"You are the child of a god?!" asked screaming the kid with a straw hat.

Instead of answering him, Dylan put on his coat and gave his back to the kid, pointing with his thumbs to the golden writing on the coat.

"Son of The Sea" mumbled the cute girl with short orange hair.

"Join my crew!" offered the kid with the straw hat with a grin on his face

"Luffy! We don't even know him!" screamed the cute girl, giving a punch to the head to the kid.

This scene made Dylan confused. He could sense that the kid wasn't bothered by the punch.

"Will you join?" asked the kid again

"Are you the captain?" inquired Dylan

"Yes!"

"Mhm" was all Dylan said, observing the girl and the reaction of the rest of the crew. He could feel they weren't that much bothered by the way the girl treated their captain. Truth be told, only the green-haired was, and even then, it was only minimal.

"Is she your woman?" the scarred man arrived at the only plausible conclusion. he wasn't one to judge. To everyone their own.

"What? No!" it was the girl who answered, which made the scarred man frown.

"Mhm...no, I won't join your crew" finally decided Dylan. He couldn't understand why the crew didn't mutiny if they could already walk all over him. Maybe precisely because of that, they didn't see a reason to do it.

But if he were to intrude on their plans, they would try to kill him off. He wasn't confident in facing four people at the same time. Well, maybe with his new abilities he could, but he didn't want his first test to be a battle of life and death.

He could sense the rest of the crew breathe sighs of relief after his answer, confirming his suspicion.

"Great guys, we have a new member!" Luffy decided to ignore his answer and draw his own conclusions.

Dylan narrowed his eyes, grasping with each hand a pistol, without taking them out of its holder.

He knew where this was going on, he had witnessed and done it too many times himself. This was a kidnapping.

He was just confused as to why such a weak kid would try to kidnap someone. was this all an act?

[MC POV]

'Were they communicating through signals? But I didn't see anything as remotely similar as a sign.'

'I have just three pistols: one for the kid, one for the girl, and the last for the long nose. The blond is disarmed and I can only see three swords with the green hair one. The old man should know to mind his own fucking business or he wouldn't have reached such an age'

I tried to concentrate a bit more to *see* what would happen if I were to fire at the head of the girl, but widened my eyes when I saw the stupid kid just send back the bullet to my general direction using his own body.

I then tried to *see* the consequences if I were to shoot at different targets, but the weaker ones, namely, the girl, the old man, and the long nose, were protected by the stupid kid.

The swordsman could cut my own bullets and the blond had the speed and accuracy to dodge them.

Till now only the swordsman seemed to have been paying attention to me, having one hand on the hilt of one of his swords. But now even the others seemed to realize how tense I was, with my hands still on my flintlock pistols, having already closed the frizzen, ready to pull the trigger.

Understanding the situation I was in, I slowly let go of my firearms, rising my hands in the air, where they could see them.

"It seems there was a misunderstanding" I said showing the friendliest smile I could master

"Relax kid, they are good people" intervened the old men

"I see" I nodded my head, maintaining my friendly smile

'So this man is with them, I will fucking kill even him, fucking fossil. Now I will just follow them and then invent something to escape, maybe I can even have a round with the cuty...Nah, I can't risk my life just because I'm horny. I will just go to the first brothel I find'

"If it is a god who sent you here, how much do you know of this place?" asked the old man trying to change the topic.

"Nothing"

"What? Nothing at all?" exclaimed little orange, starting to be on my nerves

"Mhm" I confirmed

"And what did you do till now? Mercenary in some country at war?" inquired the blondy looking at my many scars

"Pirate" and at that, I even inflated my chest

"Those are some nasty scars for a kid like you, how many years have you been a pirate?" interjected the old man

"I'm 67 years old!" I started, as being called a kid did irritate me "and I have been a pirate for 68 years"

"That's impossible!" screamed that fucking orange girl. Why would she scream so much?!

"My mother was pregnant on a pirate ship!"

"That doesn't prove anything, and are you telling me that you have been a pirate even when you couldn't walk?" kept screaming orange

"I was born, raised, and lived as a pirate, kid. I wipe my ass with your logic!" I was starting to lose my patience, and without noticing, I moved my hands toward my belt.

The others were more ready this time, even the stupid kid. All in position to start attacking.

I hurriedly moved away my hands

"Sorry, sorry! It's just a habit. Usually, someone dies from these arguments. I was just getting prepared." I tried to salvage the situation.

Well, they were diffident now, but I couldn't do much. In my old world, these things happened even between crewmates! How could I know they would be so sensitive!
