Creeping of Dispair

it has been almost a full day now and Leon had been travelling without rest. He was now on his last few samples of the Avicci berries. Very soon he wouldn't even be able to hope for a positive outcome.

"I should have carried more" He thinks to himself "I should have moved faster". As he drowns in his own regrets he is snapped by the strange sensation at his feet.

He had now just noticed the dampness of the ground he had been walking on. It was almost as if he had been walking on a wet towel. The ground felt flexible yet immovable.

He quickly realised that he was gradually moving slower. Thought at this point he couldn't even register his own existence in the darkness. Is this what exhaustion felt like or was it something else.

Coldness began to overtake his body quickly but his hpdy was just as quickly adjusting. Wait, was he sinking?

He began to panick as he realised that he had registered it too slowly to counter at at this point. He began waving his limbs randomly like a drowning human being that couldn't swim.

Every joint in his body felt like it was submerged in rapidly drying cement. For all he knew, that might be the case. It was getting harder to resist as he went deeper into the viscous substance.

The coldness was starting to creep up his neck. "Oh no" He thought to himself. Well if he was going to drown he want going to let it be a quick process like a coward. He was going to fight till the very end.

He held his breath as the coldness reached his eyebrows.

He woke up.

The sun was as bright as ever.
