Chapter 46: The Time Is Right, Wanokuni Recovery Operation

Moonlight streamed down, illuminating the room.

Carlos sat cross-legged on the ground, holding Yama in his hands with a solemn expression. He focused on channeling Armament Haki into the sword. After two days of "feeding," he had almost tamed this famous blade.

It was indeed the sword Denjiro had called "a sword that can destroy even hell." Although it wasn't as sharp as the Hidden Thunder, its advantage lay in its ability to continuously absorb Armament Haki and "store" it.

During this period, Carlos conducted several experiments, and the results were astonishing. A single swipe of Yama could split mountains and rocks. Despite having acquired it only recently, this sword was not inferior to his Hidden Thunder. To fully tame this blade, he needed to keep feeding it Armament Haki.

"Although all our agents lurking in the shadows have been confirmed dead, with the help of two Marine Admirals, Kaido's fate is sealed."

"If nothing changes, we should have results before dawn."

"With you in charge of Wano, it shouldn't be a problem."

Hearing this, Carlos sighed in relief.

Stussy's voice softened with a hint of admiration. "You've earned the most credit for the downfall of the two emperors this time. I'm curious to see how the Five Elders will reward you."

"Don't forget me when you're rich," she added with a laugh.

Carlos smiled. "We'll discuss it once we're back."

After hanging up, Carlos stood and gazed into the distance before dialing another number.

"The time has come; the recovery operation has officially begun."

A while later, countless flames suddenly illuminated the darkness in the distance—toward Wano. The sounds of fierce battles rose into the sky, even audible from here.

The months-long undercover mission was finally reaching its conclusion. As long as Kaido was defeated, the Beasts Pirates could be completely eradicated.

"I'm really looking forward to the S-level system rewards," Carlos thought, his heart racing.

He had been lost in thought for some time when the sound of hurried footsteps approached from behind.

"Carlos, there's a riot in Wano!"

"Flower City, Rabbit Bowl, and other areas have been attacked."

"Kurozumi Orochi is requesting immediate support! Quinn's side can't hold out much longer!"

"Carlos, you need to give orders quickly!"

Samu, Fozifu, and Maria shouted urgently from behind.

Carlos remained calm, not turning around. "Don't worry about it. We'll deal with it once Boss Kaido returns."

The three of them were startled. "Isn't that inappropriate?"

Carlos shook his head slowly. "This isn't just a security issue like bandits or thieves. This is a revolution that could overthrow the Wano regime!"

"Let them fight! I hope the resistance manages to kill Kurozumi Orochi and overthrow his rule."

"Are you out of your mind?" the three questioned, confused.

Carlos smiled and explained. "Yes, Kurozumi is indeed our ally, but you can't have two tigers in the same mountain. Boss Kaido has always wanted to completely take over Wano. When the fighting is over, regardless of who wins or loses, we will step in and take control."

The three of them were immediately reassured.

Black Maria was the first to respond, her eyes lighting up. "Yes, this is actually a good thing for us!"

"If Kurozumi wins, his samurai troops will be severely weakened, making them even more vulnerable to us in the future."

"At that point, it won't matter whether we annex them or just maintain control. The Beasts Pirates will dominate Wano entirely!"

"You're not only powerful but also strategic. No wonder Boss Kaido appointed you to lead the Beasts Pirates."

Maria admired Carlos, then seemed to remember something. "But there's another problem…"

Carlos smiled gently, sensing what she was about to say. "You're referring to the Rabbit Bowl, right?"

"Who do you think Quinn is? He's as renowned as I am! He's one of the three strongest among the Beasts Pirates, besides Kaido!"

He cast a meaningful glance at Samu and Fozifu. "Besides, isn't it what you wanted to have one less major competitor?"

Samu and Fozifu exchanged glances and nodded in agreement.

Black Maria started to speak, but the sharp looks from the others made her fall silent.

"Well, that settles it. Boss Kaido isn't here, so you have the final say regarding the Beasts Pirates."

"If anything happens, it'll be your responsibility."

Carlos nodded with a smile. "Don't worry; the results will be clear before dawn. We just need to wait patiently."

The battle at Punk Hazard had reached a fever pitch.

Under the joint assault of Aokiji and Akainu, Kaido was struggling. He abandoned his enormous dragon form for a more agile and powerful half-beast form.

Armed with a massive mace, Kaido engaged in close-quarters combat with the two Marines.

Aokiji wielded an ice spear, while Akainu unleashed powerful lava punches. The sky above the island was filled with countless afterimages as the three clashed dozens of times per second.

The roaring winds nearly tore the eardrums of the sailors below. The violent shockwaves from their battles swept across the island.

Trees, buildings, and the very earth were completely devastated by their fight. The massive research institute had long been reduced to rubble by the aftereffects.

The island's landscape had changed dramatically. Half was now a sea of rolling lava, while the other half had turned into a land of ice and snow.

Although Kaido used his monster-like physique to fight back against the two Admirals, being outnumbered inevitably put him at a disadvantage. His body was covered in burns and frostbite, and defeat seemed imminent.

Meanwhile, Big Mom, disinterested in aiding Kaido, had considered retreating. With Caesar secured, her primary concern was how to leave safely.

Riding on the thundercloud Zeus, Big Mom faced relentless artillery fire as she made her way to the coast, where she clashed with the five Vice Admirals of the Naval Headquarters: Flying Squirrel, Momonga,Doberman, Onigumo, and Strawberry.
