Valerie's POV
This was so embarrassing, I looked around to see if people were staring at us, and thankfully he hasn't attracted a crowd yet. This is what I feared the most, and it's as though my fears have been confirmed.
Christine wanted to say something, but then his dad beat him to it when he walked up to his mom and dragged her closer a little and then said in a low yet audible voice,
"This is a celebration, many people are here, we shouldn't let them know of our family problems or crisis, so we won't be a topic to our guests when they get home. When the event is over, we'll talk like a family inside our house." After saying that, he stared at her for a while.
His mom looked at me from head to toe in a mocking or will say in a sarcastic manner, then walked towards us. Even though I was staring at her like I'm her fellow lioness, I almost flinched when she began to approach us.
But then she kissed Christine's cheeks, then gave me a fake smile,
