A flower to remember

It has been centuries since I gained my awakened power. As I stand on the edge of this cliff, gazing at the countless stories that the infinite can create, I can't help but feel that this is what life is all about. With that thought in mind, I turn around and plunge back into the infinite, ready to embark on another story.

As I'm falling I think back to when i gained this freedom.

"I find myself in a place devoid of sight and sensation," I whispered, my voice swallowed by the void.

An unfamiliar voice echoed through the emptiness, breaking the silence. "You are dead," it proclaimed.

As the voice recounted the highlights of my life leading up to my demise, I struggled to respond, unable to speak until it finished.

Finally, words escaped my lips. "I'm... dead?"

"Yes, you have passed on," the voice confirmed.

Curiosity compelled me to ask, "Who are you?"

"I am an entity of immeasurable power, existing throughout eternity," it replied.

"Are you... God?"

"Yes," came the resolute response.

Aware of my lifelong yearning for freedom and the accompanying power, the voice offered me the very liberation I had desired. "I shall grant you the freedom you have sought, along with the power that accompanies it."

"Wait, so you're granting me absolute power?"

"Yes, but the power I bestow upon you lies dormant within yourself. Consider it an awakening of the potential inherent in every individual. It operates through the mere act of thought, manifesting your desires."

"So, if I want to know something, I simply need to think about it?"

"Indeed."

"And what about you? Are you leaving now?"

"Yes, but should you require my assistance, simply call upon me. I shall be nearby."

Focusing my thoughts, I visualized my body, particularly my hand. As I concentrated, the surroundings transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, eventually settling into my familiar bedroom. I found myself seated on the couch, gazing at the television across from me.

Surveying the room, I noticed the closed door and the chaos that had accumulated. Rubbish and dishes cluttered the space, clothes strewn across the floor. With a wave of my hand, the clothes were neatly put away, the rubbish vanished, and the dishes disappeared.

Examining the room once more, I deemed it improved but still somewhat dusty and untidy. Another wave of my hand rectified the situation.

Now, with my surroundings in order, I pondered what to do next. Returning to my bedroom was my last memory, so I decided to start there.

Lost in contemplation of my newfound power, the bedroom door swung open.

"Good, you're up," my mother greeted me. "Oh, and you've cleaned your room. Thank you. Be ready for school in an hour. If you need to shower, do so now."

"Of course," I replied.

As my mother closed the door, I deliberated on how to utilize my abilities. Why not ponder it further? I stepped into the shower, and upon finishing, I willed the water to dissipate, and it obeyed. My clothes then dressed themselves upon my command.

With my preparations complete, I made my way to school, contemplating the endless possibilities that lay before me.

During class, the teacher posed a question, fully aware that I didn't possess the answer. It seemed her intention was not to genuinely inquire, but rather to single me out and subject me to humiliation.

However, today would be different. Determined, I focused my thoughts, seeking the answer within. And just like that, it came to me. Swiftly, I responded, leaving the entire class in a state of astonishment.

Once outside the classroom, one of my friends approached, curious about how I had managed to know the answer. In response, I simply stated that I had diligently completed my homework.

My friend chuckled and skeptically remarked, "Sure."

On my way home from school, while waiting at the bus stop, my attention was drawn to a lifeless plant that had somehow managed to sprout between the cracks of the sidewalk. It had endured countless tramples and seemed devoid of any vitality, its stems flattened against the unforgiving concrete.

As I gazed at the withered plant, my imagination took hold. I envisioned it rejuvenating before my eyes. And to my astonishment, it did just that. Its stem straightened, leaves unfurled, and color returned to its once desolate form.

Satisfied with the transformation, I boarded my bus and headed home. Thoughts of my newfound power consumed me. What else could I do with this extraordinary ability?
