"Don't scare me like that again!" Jean shouted as she slapped his arm.
"Sorry!" David replied, rubbing the area where she slapped him.
For a girl this small, she possessed terrifying strength. Then again, all mutants have some form of enhanced physical capabilities.
He didn't have any because he had yet to enhance his body. The Judge wasn't exactly the kind of man to allow him to make himself more powerful.
"My Lord, what about her?" Lilia asked, pointing to the girl who was now unconscious and lying in the center of the ritual circle.
"We'll take her home. Then I'll deal with you three," David said before snapping his fingers, causing Wanda to rise into the air.
Looking at her now, David immediately noticed some differences between her and her MCU counterpart. She looked nothing like Elizabeth Olsen.
Apart from her appearance, he could see several genetic modifications within her—the work of the High Evolutionary. He could undo it, but those changes had laid and strengthened her foundation in Chaos Magic.
Of course, even the High Evolutionary didn't know that he was doing so; it was just an experiment that gave her brother super speed and her strange mental/magic powers.
"As you wish," Lilia replied as the four of them bowed.
Meanwhile, David was focused elsewhere as he went around searching the area for something. Several minutes later, he returned with a black book in hand.
"What's that?" Jean asked as soon as she saw it.
"I guess it can even tempt someone like you," David said, examining the book with great interest.
"So, what is it?"
"The Darkhold—a book containing all sorts of dark spells," David explained before snapping his fingers, causing the book to be immediately set ablaze.
"No!!!" David heard multiple shouts from within the room.
Even the witches wanted the Darkhold, but unfortunately, Chthon was dead, which meant that the Darkhold would soon begin to run wild.
Even as the flames burned, the book didn't seem to be burning at all. A few minutes later, the flames died down, and a new book was before them.
It was black just like the original Darkhold, but unlike the regular one, which gave off a tempting and dark feeling to all who looked at it, this one seemed to project a calming sensation.
"Here," David said, handing the book to the witches.
"My Lord?" Lilia asked, surprised.
"Don't be afraid. That book can do you no harm now. Instead, take advantage of it and learn. Learn as much as you can. She will need you all as teachers later."
"As you wish, my Lord," the witches bowed.
"Now for you," David said as he approached the unconscious Wanda.
Summoning the Heart of Chaos, he implanted it into her body. It may be all that remains of Chthon's divinity, but it was hers.
She may not be a god, but she was a Nexus being—divinity doesn't exactly matter to such entities. With the heart imbued, David immediately began to apply the seals.
The seals weren't too different from the ones he gave Jean. The point wasn't to completely seal off their abilities, but to let them slowly get used to them over time.
