Chapter 47

Henko wiped down the bar counter as he thought about what had happened earlier. After finally finding a dress, the two headed back to Ivan's home. Changing his clothes, Henko headed over to the bar. He still had to get it open and start the night. Yet, there were several attempts that Ivan tried to keep him there at his house. No matter how much he wanted to stay, he knew he had to leave. One thing that Henko was still not used to was the other gang members. He found out that Ivan was only the second in lead of the Mafia. His brother Boris was the actual leader of the group. Even though his older brother took the lead, Ivan still had his own group under him. It made a lot more sense once he learned all that information. There still was one thing that Henko was unsure how to respond to, and that was a question that Ivan had asked him.

"Why don't you come and live with me." Henko turned red as he remembered. Ivan was completely serious about that. However, would that be a good idea? Someone like him living in a place like that. It's not like he wouldn't be happy hearing his lover saying something like that. It was actually the first time that he had ever has someone want to further a relationship other than just for sex. Of course, Ivan was not someone to turn down sex. He knew now what kind of man Ivan was. He was a sex fiend. That was the best thing to call that man. He was only at his place for a day, and he couldn't believe how many times they did it. If they lived together, would they be doing it all the time? Also, what about his underlings? They were not very fond with Henko even being there. Especially Mark. He clearly showed his disgust for Henko. Even though Devan was there to stop the other man from doing something he would soon regret, it still scared him. What if one of the members were able to get him alone, and not only sexual assault him, but what if they killed him. If Mark ever was alone with him, Henko could only wonder if he would leave alive. Maybe it's not a very good idea to stay at the same place. It would be much better if they live separate. That way they could be alone and Henko wouldn't have to worry about anyone trying to attack him. Thinking about that attack. What about that woman. Since she's married to Ivan's brother, of course she would be there too. Thinking of all the dangers that he would face, he finally made up his mind. If they wanted to see each other, then Ivan could always come over to his apartment. Ivan may not be very happy about that. Henko knew that. Only thing he would have to do is explain why he came up with that conclusion. Then everything would be fine.

"Hey Mama! Can I get a refill?" A man waived his hand in front of Henko. He was so deep in thought that he forgot that he was in the bar.

"Oh, I am so sorry." Henko apologized. He never did that before. He needed to stop thinking of Ivan and what had happened. He needed to pay attention to his customers.

"Did something happen?" The man asked as he took a sip of his drink that Henko just poured for him.

"Oh, nothing. I was just thinking. That's all." Henko tried to brush off the question.

"No, I don't mean that." The man set the glass down. "I have been watching you for some time now and I noticed something different about you today." The man began.

Been watching me. I don't like that feeling anymore. Henko thought. Last time he had a man that was interested in him from his bar, he found that he was a thing used in a vengeance plan.

"I noticed that you are wearing a lot more makeup than you normally wear. Did something happen?" Henko was taken back. Not even the girls noticed that he was wearing heavier makeup than normal. It was due to the beating he just went through. There were some cuts and bruises on his face. With the right amount of makeup, he was able to cover a lot of it. He just never thought that a customer would notice it. He was unsure how to reply to the man. There was no way that he could just tell the man that he was beaten and raped in a revenge plot. Henko looked to the side. "It's fine if you don't want to talk about it." The man took several gulps of his drink before setting the empty glass down on the counter. "I was just worried. But I do know that there are some things that some people just don't want to talk about. So, I will understand if that is one of them." Henko looked at the man and smiled a bit.

"I thank you for your concern. Don't worry about it. I am fine." The man returned the smile and grabbed his wallet, playing for the drinks and left a tip.

"If you ever want someone to talk to. You can always talk with me." Henko started to chuckled.

"Isn't that the job of the bar host." The man waved his hand as he left the bar. Henko couldn't help but chuckle a bit to himself. The laughter stop as Henko thought of the man's words. Someone to talk to. It would be nice. Ivan would be someone that he could talk to. No matter how scary that man could be. Henko felt like he can just let all of his worries loose, and tell Ivan everything that bothers him. There he goes again. Thinking about Ivan. He needed to stop. He was at work. He needed to pay attention to his customers.
