Chapter 22: Ty Lee

Sokka was doing the daily quest while waiting for the circus to start.

After finishing, he laid down on the grass to rest. But he was so tired that he didn't measure the time, and that's how it ended up getting dark while Sokka was sleeping.

"Hmm" Sokka yawned, opening his eyes slowly, and the first thing he saw was the immensity of the starry sky, "Oh shit"

He immediately remembered Ty Lee's performance and stood up suddenly, running towards the circus.

On the other hand, Ty Lee was nervous. Not because of her performance, but because she didn't see Sokka in the audience and she was about to go on stage in a few minutes.

'He promised me he would be here' Ty Lee thought pouting while her head was resting on her cheeks, 'Where are you?'

"Ty Lee, it's your turn to go on stage!" a man exclaimed calling her and the girl jumped. She took a deep breath and went on stage.

The applause of the audience was not long in coming. Ty Lee was known for putting on amazing shows, people had high expectations about her.

The beautiful girl was on a rope with one hand. Ty Lee pushed herself off doing a somersault in the air and got back on the rope.

Everyone started to applaud at what they had seen. Sweat was beginning to slide down Ty Lee's forehead, she had done well.

The next thing was to go through many hoops. Ty Lee swung on the rope, after reaching enough momentum the girl jumped.

And without much difficulty she went through the five hoops, until she landed on an elephant that was waiting for her from below the whole time.

"Bravo!" the people shouted accompanying the applause with whistles. She had not disappointed them.

Ty Lee began to look at the audience with a smile, until her eyes spotted Sokka among them, "Yes, you came to see me!"

The girl ran over to where Sokka was sitting, who gave a small smile, "Well, I told you I'd come, didn't I?" Ty Lee was so happy.

"Wait here for me, I'll go change my dress!" Ty Lee exclaimed, running towards the locker room. Sokka was a little thoughtful at this.

'Not everyone is evil in the Fire Nation' the boy thought, seeing the good vibes she gave him. But the exception was not the rule.

The show continued for about ten minutes, until it ended and people started to leave. Sokka stayed waiting for her.

"I'm ready!" Ty Lee appeared in her pink outfit, "Did you like my performance Sokka?"

"Well, to tell you the truth I've never seen anything like it before, so I guess it was okay" the boy replied smiling

"I'm glad you liked it then Sokka" Ty Lee hugged his arm, surprising Sokka, "Let's go get something to eat!"

"Good idea, I was starving" Sokka let himself be carried away, and they arrived at a place where there were food stalls and such, "Oh?"

"Yes, this is common after shows, have you been before?" Ty Lee asked curiously and Sokka shook his head.

"Not as far as I remember" the boy replied.

"You're very strange Sokka, where do you come from?" Ty Lee was more curious than before, "You seem to be from the earth realm, I'd say from a nearby colony"

"Are you also a fortune teller? Wow, you surprise me" Ty Lee let out a small laugh at Sokka's words, "And have you been working in the circus for a long time?"

"Let's say yes, I wanted to find myself and I've ended up doing it, or so I think" Ty Lee scratched her head with a smile.

"That's pretty good, I want to find my place too" Sokka commented smiling.

"Is that why you travel?" the girl asked.

"Ah, no, although well it might be a good way to find myself" Sokka thought about it for a few moments, "Or so I think"

"And where are you going to go?" Ty Lee looked at him.

"Well I'll go north" Sokka answered without giving any more details. It wasn't really necessary to give them either.

"North... Uh, so we won't see each other again?" Ty Lee asked him rather hesitantly.

"It doesn't have to be like that" Sokka scratched his head, "If you stay in this circus, I might come see you once I finish my travel"

"That's great! Promise me!" Ty Lee made puppy eyes, looking sadly at Sokka.

"Oh, okay, fine, I promise you, but don't look at me like that" Sokka couldn't resist those eyes and Ty Lee started laughing, mocking him.
