"Are you lying?"
Gabby jumped and immediately froze when she heard the question.
Unlucky. Looks like Gerry's instincts are so strong. The proof was that he could immediately guess right that Gabby was trying to lie to him. Ah, or maybe that man has a sixth sense so he can read other people's minds?
I don't know what other misfortune Gabby is currently facing. She seemed unable to avoid this situation. If she may ask, it would be better if she was demoted rather than having to accompany a fierce and arrogant boss like Gerry every day. Just imagining her was already choking, as if she would never have another chance to breathe freely.
Yes, it was certain how a Gerry would crush her to death with a pile of work. She was sure that the man was already preparing to take revenge on her for yesterday's events.

"Don't swear at me! You think I don't know what you're thinking?" Gerry said as if he could read Gabby's inner words.
Again and again Gabby was made more frozen with a perfectly rounded gaze. The tremors that had been attacking her body became increasingly out of control. It was clear the tension in her at this time and it did not make Gerry feel sorry at all.
"Wh-what do you mean, Sir?" Gabby asked nervously. Still trying to dodge, even though Gerry seemed to know the lie.
"Should I repeat the same question?" replied Gerry turning the question around.
'No, Gabby! Don't get caught up and admit your lie right away. You have to make sure that he can't read other people's hearts. Is he God? Trust me, it was just a coincidence that his guess was right on target, actually he just wanted to set you up. So hold on not to admit it!' Gabby instructed herself silently. She was silent for a moment, observing carefully each sentence that seemed to be deliberately whispered in her left ear.
"Y-You accuse me of lying?" asked Gabby, still unable to control the tremors that had never been absent from her body. It was clear from the nervousness that had invaded her.
A smile appeared on Gerry's face. A wry smile that seemed to indicate that he wasn't sure about Gabby's question which was clearly aimed at denying his accusations. It sounded so cliché and he clearly didn't like it very much.
Yes, what else should he doubt, since the first time he met Gabby, he already knew that she was really good at acting? Maybe what Gabby is doing right now is the same, just playing an act, when in fact the woman is lying.
"You are very good at acting, Miss, but alas, I am not a fan of theatrics. I am not one to be easily fooled and you should know that. trying to lie to me?" Gerry leaned back and folded his arms over his chest. Don't forget the bitter grin and the cynical gaze that was thrown at Gabby.
Having a glare fixed on her, Gabby became even more tense. The feeling is no longer crazy. Between hot and cold, which one dominates the most. It was as if she was so numb that she couldn't do anything else, even her lips felt dry to utter a single word, in response to Gerry's words.
"Why are you silent? You still can't believe I can tell someone when they're lying?" Gerry pulled the corner of his lips into a triumphant grin, as if he was sure that Gabby was already feeling threatened by his words.
"Don't put too much pressure on her like that!"
Before Gabby had time to respond, suddenly the door opened and revealed David's figure from behind her.

His face suddenly turned sour when he found his cousin who suddenly entered without permission. He looked away annoyed, before commenting anything on David's attitude which had clearly interfered with his current activities.
Not only Gerry, Gabby was no less surprised when she found David who suddenly appeared in the room. In the midst of her tension, David came with a very calm and relaxed attitude.
Gabby didn't know whether to be happy or afraid of having David in the room. Of course she was worried that David would reveal the truth in front of Gerry, saying that there wasn't really anything important to discuss with the man before seeing Gerry.
The man seemed to walk into the room and approached Gerry's desk. Position yourself next to Gabby.
"You keep forgetting how to be polite!" Gerry quipped as he looked away annoyed. However, his satire had no effect on David.
"I did talk to her earlier, so she's late to see you. Come on, don't prolong the matter. It's just a trivial matter, right?" David immediately changed the subject by throwing his protest at Gerry, without feeling the slightest awkwardness.
Yes of course. Although what he is currently dealing with is his own boss, but Gerry is a cousin who has also been his best friend for a long time. That was why he looked so brave against Gerry. It seemed that David had been monitoring the activities in the room for a long time. The proof is he knows what Gerry and Gabby are discussing.
Gabby breathed a sigh of relief. What she feared turned out to be wrong. Apparently David had come to help her. Ah, again she couldn't believe Gerry and David were cousins. There is too much difference between the two people. At least she was very grateful that the higher-ups in this office weren't all the same as Gerry.
Gerry just pecked annoyed. He was very sure that what David and Gabby said wasn't all true. He thought David was doing it on purpose to defend Gabby. Yes, as he knows that his cousin is always kind to everyone, but not everyone should be treated well.
"What are you saying? Do you think that indiscipline is a trivial matter?" Gerry's sarcasm ignored David's response.
"Oh come on, Ger ... it's your first day at work, don't give a bad impression to all the employees in this company. By acting like this, you're only going to stress them out!" David replied trying to persuade Gerry.
"You mean I have to let the indisciplined employee in this office breathe a sigh of relief and relax? Argh, are you crazy? What do we want our company to be?"
"Ah, no. I didn't mean it like that, Brother! I just don't want you to punish Gabby in that way for what I've done," argued David, still trying to find a way to defend Gabby.
"She's been late from the start, you know that! Not because of anyone, but indeed she doesn't know how to be disciplined!" said Gerry not caring at all about David's defense for Gabby.
"Yeah, I know she's in the wrong, but you shouldn't scare her like that either. She's only made one mistake, Ger. Should you punish her by scaring her off?" replied David not wanting to lose.
A small argument between the two men certainly made the atmosphere in the room even more heated. In fact, the temperature of the air conditioner seemed unable to cool the room anymore.
Gabby became uncomfortable because she witnessed the debate firsthand. Didn't expect that a small mistake she made, would actually cause a fight between the two men.
"Sir, let me accept the punishment for what I've done. I don't mind." Gabby whispered, trying to break up the debate between Gerry and David. Yes, she did have to deal with this problem herself.
"But, Gab—"
"You hear? In fact, she doesn't have a problem with all this. Then why are you trying so hard to defend her?" concluded Gerry, not giving David a chance to speak again. "Never mind, get out of here! I know what I have to do!" He insisted then.
