"The bandits are here!"
Yara frowned at the boy's words as she jumped from the sudden entry. The noises outside became clearer, screams and loud crashes filled the air. The village chief became even paler and hurriedly stood up with the boy's help.
He gave one last look at Yara, "Please save us," and ran out with the boy.
Yara bit her lip, she couldn't just sit back and watch the people get hurt. 'But this was the south, someone might recognize me,' she thought, then shook her head, 'No! These people need help!'
She steeled her nerves with a deep breath and walked to the door.
Just as she was about to open it, she noticed something. The dragon was still leaning against the wall in the corner of the room.
"What are you doing?" Yara demanded as she approached him. "We have to help the villagers!"
The dragon stared at her with an arched eyebrow, So she is talking to me now?
