Traitor

The place Noah and the children found themselves was dark, it looked like he had arrived on a underground location.

The children still being affected by the earlier events were crying, scared and vulnerable, they had arrived on a completely new world, on a dark and humid cave.

Only the 3 oldest of the group managed to light a torches brought from the shelter so they could see, their names were Noah with 13 years of age , Ralph with 12 and Anna with 14.

"Is everyone here? the gate closed so fast!" (Anna)

"Sophy, Alex and Laura are here!" (Ralph)

"Ralph, your brother is here too!" (Noah)

After ensuring that everyone made it they began the three oldest began to try and calm down the other children, Ralph went and hit little Brian's head with a light chop to shush him and pulling him into a hug while silently crying, Noah brought his little sister, Sophy, into a hug ensuring that all would be okay with a soft crying voice, while Alex and Laura where huged by Anna, whi cried for a bit and calmed them enough so that they could start to explore their surroundings.

Remembering the last words given to them along with the tips and recommendations the adults left them let them remember to start looking for a place to stay that would have food and shelter for them.

"Which way should we go now? We have no clue what we are doing!" (Ralph)

"We should choose any way and walk until we find something, we better start fast or we are going to get hungry soon..." (Anna)

"We need to be careful here... what if other people have come too? remember that they said for us to be very careful and avoid people we dont know when we get here... what if they want to kidnap us? Well... dont think we can choose to not go anyway... " (Noah)

After being indecisive and hesitating alot to choose a direction they did a coin flip and chose a way to follow, but before they went too far they found a much wanted awnser.

"Big Bro, I can feel wind coming from our backs... its like when Mom used the WIND spells" (Brian)

Noticing that trully there was wind coming from their backs they decided to go that direction until finding the surface.

"Do you think anyone can make it here? we have waited for so long... If not for those greedy bastards fighting each other as soon as we came we would never be able to stay free..." said a man with a bald head and a mushy beard

"I need to wait Stephen... even if they dont come... I need to atleast try, or i would never be able to live with my self..." said the thin man with glasses in military clothes

Stephen sighed and said "You did enough already.... do you know how risky was what you did that year? I am surprised we werent executed for that! If not for the imcompetence of the rest of the researchers in looking at the communicator we would be dead."

giving Stephen a wry smile the man with glasses said "We were the last group on Charis at the time... its most likely safe for those that survived on Shelters to come also... I... altered the coordinates to this place based on the that map you gave me just so we could save more people..."

Thus they kept waiting, both friends ridden with guilt and sadness at not doing enough for those that stayed.

After walking the same direction in the darkness for some hours the younger of the group started complaining

"Hey Big Bro, Im Hungry..." (Brian)

"Me too!" (Laura)

"I-I am... also hungry" (Alex)

"Um... Brother you have any food?" (Sophy)

Noah seeing that even his cherished little sister was starting to grow hungry took the last bits of food from his backpack.

To that both Anna and Ralph looked at the last bits of food they would be eating for now and with sadness and fear they started to think what should they do to find more food.

"We havent seen any bat or rat in this cave... we probably will have to get quicker to the surface before we get too hungry" (Anna)

"But we dont know to hunt or fish or even if we can eat the plants we find! the only thing we can do is cook it and hope for the best..." (Ralph)

Noah seeing Ralph starting to despair, started think on how they could make sure to eat only what wouldnt be toxic or poisonous to them.

"Maybe we should try and see what the animals eat first... or maybe just make the small traps the paranoid uncle taught us to see if this place has things like rabbits... using fishing rods could work too..." (Noah)

Seeing that they were finished eating and just staying around worrying more and more Anna went into her 'lets go faster people' mode and started to rush the kids to get to the surface.

"Joseph! Quick... theres a signal!" said Stephen after looking at the equipment they 'borrowed' after their scape from the warring groups of elites.

"Take all you can in the backpacks... we cant just keep staying here anyway, our food wont last too long..." said Joseph with a tired voice

Looking at his friend finalky making the choice to leave this place Stephen said to him with a conforting tone while pattinf his shoulder "Dont beat yourself too much... we atleast saved those ones that came, i will bring the equipment, you take the food and medkits"

The kids starting to get tired after so long walking started to get impatient but didnt even the younger ones would not complain, knowing that they shouldnt act spoiled after their parents gave their life for them.

"Are we getting close to the surface?"(Ralph)

"I think so... the air feels different from when we started" (Noah)

"We will get there faster if we walk more and talk less!" (Anna)

"There is something wrong with their location Stephen... it says they should be here!" seeing that the equipment looking like it was broken he started to get confused at what they should do to find the survivors from Charis.

Hearing this Stephen put his hand on the ground and send small ripples to detect movement around.

Then as if understanding something he looked up and started to channel mana to open a hole on the cave.

"Did you guys hear this?" (Noah)

"Hear what?" (Anna)

"Something shaking or as if someone was digging" (Noah)

"Yes, i can hear it now... its coming from right here!" said Ralph pointing underneath him just as he fell down a hole.
