Chapter 268: YOU'RE DONE

Yet despite everything there was,

The serpent king did not fall back.

Instead, it gave a mocking smile,

As it looks at Asmodeus, eye to eye.

Its eyes never left, ever.

Making Asmodeus feel like he's not the one in control.

And just as when he thought he should move first,

The serpent suddenly spoke.

Its loud voice suddenly echoed through,

Making sure he was heard clearly by the two.

And in those few seconds that he spoke,

Sellena and Lluming, felt the chilling sensation, make way to their bones.

Sellena's arms suddenly shake in fear,

"Asmodeus! Revert back!" She tried to pursuade him but still-

Asmodeus spoke to her in the same sweet manner,

Assuring her that he's not losing control.

Lluming's grip on his sword also tightened,

As the serpent's words were recalled in his head.

"Why are you looking at me, surprised?

Were you waiting for me to beg you with sorry eyes?

Well, sorry to crush your dreams but I am not afraid.

This form gives more...far more disadvantages.

Sure, it's powerful, but it has repercussions.

After all...you were cursed.

My master told me you only used this form once before, am I right?

Back when...you wanted Sarah for yourself, and every time she becomes a wife-

You kill her husbands one by one on their wedding night,

And even after Raphael repelled you,

you continued to act violently and wild.

The first time Faegan, my master's vessel saw you act that way,

He became concerned, as you weren't even tamed by the strong Raphael.

In fear of being punished by Lucifer, himself,

He cursed you not to ever use that form again.

Whatever the curse was, I'm sure it won't do you good,

After all, if you could, you should have used this form over and over,

But seeing our difference in power,

You became too desperate, and then returned to being a monster.

How pitiful you truly are,

No wonder you make my master laugh all the time.

You're a demon, but your emotions are of a human's.

Naive, too loving, too blind.

And it will cost you your life."

"Sellena, whatever you do, don't look,"

Asmodeus reminded as Sellena only shook.

"You can't order me around, Asmodeus!

I need to know if you're okay!"

"And what could you do?

Seeing your eyes will only distract me than help!

I...I need you to help me protect you,

So please, don't...don't look this way."

Sellena pursed her lips,

As tears rolled slowly down her cheeks.

Lluming only looked at Asmodeus as he waits for the first move,

But the serpent turned towards the angel,

Shocking the two.

The serpent's chilly breath was enough to make the angel freeze.

"Stay out of our fight, or I'll go after the beautiful miss."

Before Lluming could respond, the serpent was hit with a powerful fist,

Asmodeus was filled with so much wrath, he couldn't wait to release.

The serpent fell back, its chest deeply wounded,

Despite it however, it healed.

The fact that their opponent could do that, posed a great threat to securing their victory,

So Lluming thought hard, of what its weakness could be.

Asmodeus quickly surrounded the serpent with chains,

Chains strong enough to imprison dragons.

Yet despite his best efforts,

Just a few shrugs send them all useless and broken on the floor.

The serpent laughed as he charged at Asmodeus,

But was quickly protected by Lluming's barrier he sent forth.

The serpent's eyes quickly looked at Lluming,

And in those moments, Lluming again, was striked by fear.

"Didn't I...tell you not to interfere?"

And with that, the serpent quicly flashed its teeth.

Sellena quickly heard the strong sound of bodies hurting one another,

And hearing them cry out in pain, she was reminded of the death of her brother.

She felt useless and mournful,

"No more...no more!"

And worried she'd lose another,

she looked.

And the sight was not a sight she was ready for.

Lluming's blond hair turned red at the assault,

Truly, their enemy was way too powerful.

And the only one keeping the archangel alive,

Was the chains, Asmodeus wrapped around the serpent's fangs.

Sellena's eyes suddenly glowed into a greenish color,

And by that moment, she felt her right hand emit power.

She spoke a foreign language, even she, did not understand,

And when those phrases ended, marks suddenly appeared in her arms.

With the foreign letters and the enchanment complete,

Sharp disc like object suddenly flew to interfere.

The serpent king quickly roared in pain,

Seeing the disc like object, seep through his skin.

Sellena then awoke and felt her knees tremble in fatigue,

But seeing Lluming's surprised look, she could guess what may have happened.

With the act deeply hurting the insides of the monster,

The serpent quickly tried to get her.

But Asmodeus bit his back with such might,

That the serpent reverted his focus and attacks.

When he now, was the one on top of Asmodeus, however,

He realized a terrifying horror.

His wounds no longer healed like they used to,

And it may have to do something with the foreign objects he was infused.

He growled and pulled Asmodeus' hair,

Planning to tear and eat up his head.

Yet before he could do what he had intend,

His prey quickly wrapped his neck with burning chains.

The snake felt deeply annoyed and broke them before they tightened,

And seeing that Asmodeus was not scared to try again,

He positioned his head in a way he wouldn't free himself,

Then choked him with his very own chains.

But the demon was a prince of hell for a reason,

And that was when the serpent felt his skin burn and hurt.

Asmodeus had put other chains on his skin,

But they were so small, that someone his size wouldn't notice.

And when he was sure his enemy is way too distracted,

He made them burn so hot, even metal would have melted.

The serpent was able to free itselt while still holding unto Asmodeus' head,

And when their eyes met again,

To say threatening words, he couldn't help but say.

"You're done...you'll die, this very day."

But like him early on,

His enemy did not showed any fear or forlorn.

"I've fought countless enemies,

And even survived Lucifer's whip.

The likes of you, wouldn't be close to compete.

A whimpy snake, wouldn't be the end of me."

With those said, the snake pushed his body to the wall,

Just enough for him to stay alive and feel his injuries hurt.

But than a frown or a face contorted in pain,

Asmodeus was laughing, looking at him as if he was insane.

"You...foolish creature!

Satan's right hand man should not he shamed!"

"Ah, my bad.

Didn't know Satan's right hand man was this sensitive."

"Grrr!!!"

He quickly opened his mouth but Asmodeus' arms freed themselves from the snake's grip,

And by the cocky smile present on his face,

one could tell, he had been waiting for this moment.

"Your tongue's too long,

I think we should give it a trim!"

And by that,

He managed to pull his tongue out,

And the serpent hollered out a blood curdling scream.

It was so loud that Lluming managed to come back to conciousness,

And seeing Asmodeus struggle to battle the serpent man, himself,

He tried his best to stand up and help.

He still had his vision blur at the impact,

And had a hard time balancing his steps, and following track.

But he reminded himself of the importance of this fight,

For this alone, can tell if the humans would live or die.

He groaned in pain as he held his chest,

But since Asmodeus' chains were losing yet again,

He quickly summoned his barrier when the serpent's fangs were about to penetrate,

And that was enough for Asmodeus to attack again.

His enhanced physical strength was enough to push to monster down the tower,

And Lluming was overjoyed, but was shocked when he was stopped by the demon.

"Don't follow."

"What? Since when did you get to order?

And what reason do you have for me to consider?"

"Lluming, if you leave Sellena, she may get in danger.

After all, the serpent king can summon.

You may have finished its siblings a while ago,

But you...you may never know.

And besides,

You don't know these serpents the way we do.

And I'm sure you're aware of the saying,

That it's easier to fight enemies you're closer to.

And I, have played dirty tricks most of my life.

I may be able to fight him, fire by fire."

"Still-"

"They're...the most cunning creatures we know.

Don't worry, I'll figure out something.

And I won't let this monster step on the tower again."

Asmo's red eyes were fierce and emotionless,

But his voice was as reassuring, soft as velvet.

The angel's heart felt warmth from the love the demon harbors for the woman,

And though he didn't want to say anything more,

his lips seemed to moved on their own.

"You've come so far."

"Hah, you don't have to say that."

The prince felt his cheeks turn red from the words,

But only brushed it off with a cough.

"Well, you've come so far too, mister Serious face.

You're starting to act like a REAL angel.

Well then, protect Mi Amor while I battle that ugly beast,

It may wake up now. So let's talk after this."

He quickly rushed towards the monster,

As Lluming prayed,

nothing bad happen to the man, Sellena love most.

...

Asmodeus felt his eyes turn redder,

And with that, wanted to stay away from them as far as possible.

His senses were starting to become overwhelming after all,

And he wanted to finish this fight, as quickly as possible.

Blood started to smell too nice,

And even his hearing improved as twice.

In short, every living thing on sight,

Started to feel like something he should kill and bite.

It was a lust he wanted to bury in the past,

But it's all...all coming back.

He didn't want to admit at first,

but he truly was, starting to become a monster.

And with every step he take,

The more clearer his fate appear.

His voice shook and cried, as he recite his prayer,

Hoping with all his heart, that he could win this over.

"God...my father...please give me enough time.

Let me kill this monster threatening my wife.

And after that, you can get everything I have.

My strength, my immortality, even my life."

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he faces the angry serpent,

Who by then, wanted nothing but revenge.

He had his mind clouded with certain rage,

That even the acts he didn't thought he'd be capable of doing,

became an option on his plate.

And while Asmodeus was hoping his faith would be an advantage,

The opponent on the other side had its own little ways.

The king of snakes and venom had no plans to apologize,

Even if his decisions were made in a flash.

He was quick to make use of his brothers at stand,

While they blindly follow,

thinking disobeying was unwise.

He used some of them to block Asmo's path,

As he grab the other ones for lunch.

The serpent quickly swallows its own siblings,

Gaining more power,

As he charges at him.

The impact was tanked however, by Asmo's sheer will and acquired power,

Instilling in his mind, that even if his monstrous instincts take over,

Killing the biggest serpent, is all that matters.
