Heading to the north for a taste of unique plants, with warm evening light it greeted me. My journey continues in this sea of the tree.
Well, my journey to the plants mostly consists of me just running around dodging trees left and right. Barely any unique thing happened, the most unique thing that happened is a new monster I discover like a mouse that can stand on two feet.
Well, the journey is journey, it mostly consists of walking or running with a little experience at the end of it. Well, anyone could argue if walking is part of the experience too or not, if so then maybe that's the reason many people is still journeying with their foot.
Tree after tree I finally arrive at the checkpoint, why it's a checkpoint? Simple because in this area there are a bunch of annoying squirrels, really annoying squirrel.
It all begins when want to eat one of its kind, I thought it maybe a good idea to gather information about plants from its memory. Why I chose that, well because you know, it seems like a reason to just steal its memory.
There famous saying that say if you want to know something ask experts in the field. And who a better expert than one that's eating it daily. So I try to catch it.
Which started from a good idea quickly becoming a bad idea. The squirrel I catch in its last moment attempting to escape from my jaw but it can't, my win I thought to myself but when I try to bite it the squirrel try its final move, it screams.
Honestly, the screams are very loud, my ear kinda gets shocked by the sudden high volume of sound, especially in very close proximity. After that moment, I hear a chain of screams from the tree. I panicked and the squirrel escapes from my grips.
What follows after that is truly bizarre, a sea of squirrel raining from the sky. A tsunami I thought, shocked I run with my life from the area. I can tell it's still chasing me even after I outrun them because the screams are still going.
Honestly, that was the scariest moment I experience in all of my life. I even impressed with myself for not getting any PTSD from that moment. A sea full of frenzy squirrel I bet any man would get trauma from that if they experience it themselves.
Now I find myself yet again near its territory, but this time is different I know that my speed can easily outrun. What I need to do is prepared to run at full speed.
Huh..hah. My legs are ready and my mind is fully prepared. When I prepared myself a bunch of curious observers arrived. Look who arrived here isn't it you, you little prick! Did you smell my body, so want revenge? Then come and get it!
One after another more of its kind start to appearing, what started from two squirrels became three, four, ten and many more. Truly unexpected what with that sheer number, a hundred maybe two hundred. Two hundred squirrel in this area alone. Huh.. You guys need to chill down a bit and manage your numbers.
Ohh! Its finally started, a rush of squeak and screams. It's time for me to run right now. But before that, I will show you something you little prick.
"Aawoooooooo"
Every one of them shut their mouth when they hear my howl. Good now they are dumbfounded, it's time to run, bye-bye.
Run run run, seeing me running they finally realize what my intention is.
Outrage they scream and start to catch me. Idiot decides whether you scream or run, don't scream and run at the same time. And not to mention your screams is very loud and annoying.
I stop for a moment to see if they still catching me or not, and sure enough some of them still trying to catch me. And uniquely they jump from tree to tree not running on the ground, seem like they have some parkour skill too.
If they still want to catch me then feel free to do so. Honestly, my intention from the start is to annoy them. The fact that they do not give up yet just makes me happier. Haha.
As time goes, the sun finally set down marking the beginning of the night. Gradually my speed starting to get slower not because of tiredness. But because of my surrounding.
This is a new area, I never set foot in this area before which mean I barely know anything from this area. Its inhabitants, the monster, the plants and the dangers it's possessed is unknown.
I know this area because I climb a tree, a tree which my shelter is in. And from that tree, I see a bigger tree, a lush green oak tree, I want to see it more but fear the branches that I sit on might break I give up on it.
Monster tends to active at night and sure enough, I can already hear the owl singing. Of course, it's not the normal owl you see on earth, it's totally different.
The owl alone has three main colours on its body, a blue on the underside, a black on its wing and tail, white on its face and last but not least are a mix of white and black colour all of its body. The size of the owl is not impressive, it's quite small compared to the bird monster I already see.
Seems like this area is more lively at night than the previous area I have been to. There is a lot of new amazing and unique monster for me. Like the owl, opinion-moth and spider. They are all over the place.
Well, there certainly a lot of creatures here, that's means I must be more cautious. If there is a lot of prey then there will be a lot of predators too.
Safety is number one priority for me and luckily my fur is black, I can perfectly blend in with the dark. But it kinda useless too I guess if they active at night that means they have a way to survive at night.
Huh... It's not easy to be a monster surrounded by a monster. I am lucky that I have night vision and a big body to deter any insignificant attention from the little monster. If I have a small body then I would be bullied to death by this world.
I smell blood, it's from my right side. There what I see is a small cat eating on a small bird, but they are so different from their counterparts on earth.
Small prey from small predators. Yet again I thank my luck for getting this big body and being a predator, not a prey. Thank to that I need not extra suffering.
I keep walking to my destination and not let my guard down. I try to focus on any little sound especially the one from the bush or the tree. As I only see the little monsters here and there I hope that the bigger one didn't show itself or better yet didn't exist in here.
A monster is one thing to catch my attention but what interests me the most is the plants around here. I can see them but not with their colour so I didn't know if they are safe or not. Totally not disappointed by the amount of new flora in here.
From the beginning my intention to come here is to taste any kind of plants, so I can know which one is useful for me. And if there any fruiting tree around here then I hope it will be my long-term supply of food.
Unfortunately, I can't see any sign of fruiting tree around here, kinda unfortunate. My other goal is to find a new shelter, big enough for myself and my soon to be a food supply.
As time goes I'm getting close to the big tree. Around the big tree, there is no monster and there is a lot of flower and plants, jackpots I thought.
That's what I initially thought, but I quickly realised that if there is no monster looting this free loot then that's means this all kind of flower and plants is possibly dangerous.
Yeah, I need the information to prove that. Getting new information means eating for me eating for me, which means hunting.
But I want to take a more careful approach in this area that's because I barely know anything. So, for now, I want to observe what monster live around here and what they do.
Information is power that's especially true if you are an intelligent animal like human beings. Humans evolve by intelligence and information play a big part in that, which one safe to hunt and which isn't knowing that can safely live.
Ancient techniques and the basic at that, but it the fundamental and totally work even to this day and age. For me now that's a very important thing that I mustn't forget.
I started to circle the area around the tree, gradually from a small area to a big one. I noticed something interesting, a tree in this area is more bigger by size than the tree around the lake.
Not only that after I circle the area I gain a lot of useful information. Most of it contains monster behaviour though, but hey that's not too bad.
The owl I mention before usually stay in the tree but what makes it unique is that the owl prefers to hunt scorpion-moth. It sweeps through the air and sweeps it out of its colony.
The cat that I see previously is a smart cat and all-rounder. I see it climb a tree stalking the owl, but as I expected with the owl 180 degrees rotating head the cat quickly got busted. The owl flies away and the cat lost its meal that's what I thought.
The cat surprises me when it jumps from tree to tree until it near the moth colony. It jumps and caught quite an amount of moth with its parachute-like jump. It quickly squishes the moth with its cat punch, the strongest attack known to mankind. Then the cat proceeds to eat it like it's nothing.
I meet a new monster too in the east, a big spider monster. It constructs a web from tree to tree. I didn't know what it tries to catch but it certainly not normal size prey.
A spider is scary looking one, I bet that any arachnophobia guy will faint seeing it. It has eight sharp legs, a huge abdomen and a scary-looking mouth. Fortunately, it sleeping, so I will just leave it for now maybe someday I will eat it, who knows right?
After my tour, the sun is finally setting up which marks my adventures for today now I want to sleep. Finally, I fix my sleeping schedule now I can wake up in the evening and hunt at night like a proper wolf.
So yeah good night, I hope today will be a better day for me, especially in this new area and new environment. Bless me with good food and a lot of food. Oh! Crap, water, is their body of water around here. Huh... Let's leave that problems for tomorrow, for now, let's sleep in peace.
