Before being ambushed two months ago, he had actually just achieved a breakthrough by connecting to eight out of his twelve spiritual meridians! The spiritual meridians were located in the major organ systems of the body. He was building a path from his origin doors to his matrix step by step. This was a prerequisite, for only once a full path throughout the body was defined would he be able to galvanize the energies in his force genesis, baptizing his body once more in their power!
Right now, he just cheated by using his system and his labors.
For some reason, Jody felt he could use that baptism to perceive a nascent concept. He was currently an Advanced Freshman, just like Sek. He should hurry and push it to the prefect level. Then he could comprehend a concept and open the window of truth.
After clearing his mind of random thoughts, Jody revolved the force circulation method given to him by the Bright Star: Battle Book. One rotation, six rotations, 20 rotations, and he didn't stop until the fifty-sixth rotation.
"Fifty-seven," After about five hours, Jody had barely managed to clear out the spiritual meridians in his gallbladder and in his liver.
All that was left at this moment were the third-dawn and serosa meridians. These paths had to be completed as a pair. The "triple sun" component of the third-dawn passage could be considered the biggest hurdle to cross when connecting the spiritual meridians, as there were multiple bridges needed within one. This reminded Jody of bridges on the roadways of the big cities of his last life. This was far more complex than what he had dealt with thus far. It was for this reason that he accepted Sylvester's help.
Who knew how long this would take without it?
"I wonder what time of day it is…" thought Jody. Merely, this thought of Jody's echoed through the host space as soon as he had it. Startled he glanced at Xavier and ask, "Woah, does that happen every single time I have a thought?"
"Duh, dude, how did you think you sounded when you speak to us? If you want the time ask the grimoire," replied Xavier as he rolled in the fluff of the nimbus cloud.
"What? Cosmo knows the time? Why is that?" Jody felt baffled by this random feature.
Convenient as it was at the moment, Jody didn't feel this had too many utilities.
"It's not the grimoire that knows the time, it's your body. The grimoire just interfaces with your mind to present you with your current status in a form you can understand," Xavier looked at Jody and explained patiently.
"Really? No way," Jody had to see this for himself.
He stood up from the hosting throne to glide over into the stars. Opening the tremendous and ancient [Cosmos Revolving Grimoire] to the first page, Jody peered into the hieroglyphics appearing before him. In his mind, it was like information about his current physical status was being downloaded and displayed.
[Name: Josiah Goldwolf]
[Age: 8 years, 4 months.]
[Status: 89% Health]
[Gaea Time: 63:23]
'Sagacity: Advanced Freshman Scholar, 7 BP.'
'Berserk: Level 7 Wimpy Man, 32.5 BP (estimate).'
'Perfect Synchronization with the host in progress: 98%.'
'Guardian 1: Cosmos Devouring Sky Wolf, Compatibility rating: 60% (Perfect).'
'Guardian 2: Mighty God Sky Jackal, Compatibility rating: 42%.'
"Holy…the time format is modern, so convenient!" Jody was shocked by this.
Was this what Xavier meant by 'in a form that you can understand'? It's not that they didn't have the same time system in this world, just that technology here was all magic-based. They used the positioning of the stars to gauge days, and each day was 72 hours. However, it was impossible to find a clock anywhere.
"It has my real name and everything wow, hm?" Jody's attention was drawn to the compatibility ratings. As expected, Sylvester's rating had dropped again, but Xavier's had shot up! "Hey, guys, is it normal for compatibility ratings to change so easily?"
"Certainly not. Most combat souls have soul flames that are totally sealed. We do not and are, therefore, fully conscious. I do not know to what extent this will affect our compatibility rating. However, I am certain that our ratings will be different from others," Sylvester was still lying on top of Jody's head as he explained, the metallic black of his fur making him blend into the darkness of the surroundings when his eyes were closed.
Jody's eyes flashed with the light of understanding. Perhaps the reason nothing happened the way the books said it would, was actually all because of this infant stage sky wolf combat soul, "We've got three hours before I'm supposed to meet my mother, Sly. Can we do it?"
"Hm…" Sylvester opened his eyes and pondered for a moment. After a while he finally responded, "It should be possible. However, I will likely need to rest in the grimoire for a few days as a result."
"Up to you," shrugged Jody.
"If if it is to help you earnestly transform your origin force, I am more than willing. Let us continue," replied Sylvester indifferently as he kicked off of Jody's head and ascended into the bright space above.
The sky puppy howled upwards into the void, the sheen of his black fur making him shine like an immortal weapon in the starlight as green and then black flames erupted into life around him.
Jody felt his strength surge mysteriously, and he hurried to glide back to the host seat, entering the high state as he sat down. To his shock, origin energy was wildly pouring into his body through his palm, which held the origin gem. The bright white radiance of the gem had dimmed by nearly half.
Anxious, Jody hurriedly circulated his force as if it were little meteorites touring the bright stars. If Jody were paying attention to his surroundings right now, he would have noticed that all of the heaven and earth energy in the surrounding mile radius was being drawn toward his tent. All the warriors and nobles in the surroundings had already gathered around his tent.
Oblivious to this, the kid continued his training. Starting from the spirit meridian in Jody's stomach, he sent his surging force through the bright stars that wrapped around his liver, kidneys, large intestine, small intestine, and bladder. Twenty-five rotations later, the chain expanded to cover his spleen, abdomen, and stomach.
With this crucial step, Jody finally connected his twilight veins to the matrix in his abdomen!
The origin pool could be considered an energy reservoir and existed with the matrix, which bridged body and soul. Jody could now store energy reserves in the origin pool rather than having nothing but the mana that was present in his veins and bright star meridians. Jody felt confident that he could sustain using [Pharaoh's Law] if he summons it now, even without the magical origin gem.
But he wasn't finished yet. Jody coughed roughly and threw up a bunch of mud and black blood but immediately closed his eyes and returned to the host space, resuming his origin transformations. He formed both mana and rukh ceaselessly, compressing it with the shine of each bright star.
Jody was now in the final hurdle. Proceeding without rest, he continued refining his bright star belt. Reflected in his mind's eye, it looked like a milky white river was rushing in five directions surrounding his heart and lungs. Every time the energy flow was hindered or outright stopped, Jody would send more and more force meteors circulating in that direction. Some were sparkling with milky-white energy, and others were dark and desolate. The two lights would collide every now and then, and a burst of twilight would baptize the entire channel in its radiance.
Finally, after countless rotations, the entire channel was cleared, and Jody was drenched in sweat!
His origin forces then flowed into the single branch of the twilight vein leading to the pericardium.
The serosa.
This was argued to be the most difficult hurdle for many to cross! Even harder than the triple dawn. There are many untalented Sage experts who were stuck in the freshman rank of the Origin Scholar realm for this very reason. This was destined not to be Jody's experience. Surprisingly, his energy flowed through this bright star totally unhindered. There were simply no impurities for him to cleanse. The entire channel shined like a rainbow.
Jody didn't take time to question this good fortune, connecting with the twilight vein pathways that lead to his arms, wrists and middle fingers. This was the original path that Jody cleared when he first started formulating!
"This is what they call 'everything coming full circle,'" Jody marveled as his force circulated unhindered throughout his body.
It was such a wonderful feeling that flowed through his body along with his origin forces, clearing out the final dregs of impurities within his veins and spiritual meridians. It felt incredible.
But then, something changed. Jody slowly started to feel a burning sensation in his abdomen, like there was something wrong with the origin transformations he had just made. He noticed that his energy was starting to flow more slowly and erratically as if his body was rejecting it. He tried to adjust the stream of energy, but nothing seemed to work. It seemed like his origin transformation had gone awry somehow, and now his body rejected it!
Jody felt frustrated and desperate. He had worked so hard for this moment, only for it to be taken away from him in an instant! He started thinking about what could have caused this sudden change, and the realization hit him like a ton of bricks - he hadn't refined his matrix yet! He was sending force inside but couldn't properly perceive it. But how could he refine the matrix? He didn't remember any scriptures describing this process.
Jody made a snap decision, immediately guiding his force to wrap his matrix up like a cocoon of light as it circulated. With every rotation, new layers slowly formed. He felt a cooling sensation coming from his abdomen, assuring him that his solution had a positive effect.
As he continued to focus on refining his matrix, Jody noticed the energy flow throughout his body beginning to stabilize once more. The burning sensation in his abdomen began to subside, and his spirit meridians opened up wider than before. It was as if his body was finally accepting the energy that he was circulating within it.
Jody sighed in relief as he laid back, feeling the energy flow through his body like a gentle breeze. He couldn't believe it. He had finally achieved what he had been working towards all this time - refining his sky matrix. It was as if a massive weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.
