Science vs Magic

The whole place went silent after my small display of power. 

Even the crowd below, which had been bad-mouthing me moments ago, was now filled with fear. 

Their faces turned pale, eyes wide with terror as they watched the sky. 

Some covered their mouths in shock, while others clung to each other for comfort. 

They had believed that a member of the United Power could protect them, but I had just shown them otherwise.

As for me, I had to keep my poker face in check, even though I was having a blast with this power trip.

I'd been humble for so long, it almost felt like I could apply for the most low key person award . 

So, this rare chance to show off was a welcome change of pace. 

It might be totally inconsistent with my humble self, but sometimes I feel it's okay to be a bit arrogant and assertive, even if just a little bit.
