Vice was as good as his word, and drove them straight to Vital's club. It was empty that early in the day.
"The boss isn't here," the bouncer at the door told them.
"Can you tell him it's important, and to call me," Vice said, face set in a scowl.
The bouncer's eyes travelled from him to Ivo. He was trying to guess what their business was with Vital, and how in trouble he would be if he didn't pass their message along.
"We do business often." Vice shifted his footing with an impatient sigh. "I've been around the club dozens of times. Tell him Vice needs to talk with him urgently."
The bouncer cursed them under his breath and walked inside the club, slamming the door shut in their faces. He came out seconds later with the same sour look. "Your message has been passed along. But as I said, the boss isn't here. He said he would contact you."
