"No, Matter of fact, it is perfect." Muriel replied sipping again from the lemonade.

Thorn smiled seeing Muriel enjoy the drink, "Enjoy it, I'll go clean the mess I made in the kitchen." Thorn spoke while leaving the bed.

"Leave the kitchen Thornie, I will call for a maid to come today.

Since I rarely stay here, the maids only come in holiday to tidy up the place." Muriel said.

"It's fine, don't call anyone, I'll take care of everything myself, who do you think cleans my house? I do!" Thorn said proudly.

"You clean your own home? your place is always spotless, you do all of that on your own?"

"Yeah! my doctor says cleaning helps with focusing, I have a serious focusing problem.

ADHD and shit, you've seen that in action... and it helps my mood too, I get these weird bursts of anger from time to time, I let it all out on the dust! " Thorn replied smiling before heading for the door.

" Enjoy your food, and call me if you needed anything from the kitchen.

Don't force the food down your throat, take it easy babe." he added winking at Muriel before leaving the room.

But On his way, Thorn couldn't help but to think of something, if no one comes to the house but the maids occasionally.

Then why was the house way cleaner than it should be? the cupboards and the fridge were fully stocked, And there was even some leftover cake.

And judging by the cake's condition, it was two days old at most, Thorn even noticed an Opened pack of tea bags on the counter while he was cooking earlier.

As he got closer to the kitchen, Thorn's instincts got triggered as soon as he heard a strange clicking noise.

Without a second thought, he switched into his beast form, fully shifting a second before a bullet hit him.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT?" a blonde woman shouted in surprise as she tightened her grip around her gun, she pointed it again at the the 10 foot lizard in front of her, "A komodo dragon really? did this house become a Zoo in my absence?!

MERDE! (damn it in french)" she Shouted again, questioning herself on the authenticity of what her eyes just saw.

As he noticed her heterochromic eyes and blonde hair, Thorn realized the woman looked like a spitting image of Muriel, so he refrained from attacking her back.

But She was ready to attack him again, she was about to fire another shot, if it wasn't for Muriel who heard the commotion and ran to them despite his dizziness.

The woman barely managed to hold herself from pulling the trigger, "Mallory! oh mon dieu (oh my god) DROP YOUR WEAPON!" he shouted at her while shielding Thorn.

"T'es fou mon cher ?! ( are you crazy darling) do you see that thing? get away from it!" Mallory replied,

"That thing you are trying to kill is my boyfriend sister! I let him in!

Please, stop trying to kill every man I date, if I wanted any of them to hit the grave, they would have done so, long ago!" Muriel replied.

Mallory raised her eyebrows at Muriel, She was surprised her little brother was adamant about protecting His lover, but even more surprised that her brother's boyfriend is a komodo dragon, "QUOI? (what) that thing is your man? he belongs in a cage!" she said.

Angry, Thorn crawled in front of Muriel shielding him instead, he didn't like Muriel shielding him, when he believed it was his job to do so, " And you belong in a psychiatric ward, put the gun down Mallory." Muriel replied.

"Fine! espace d'idiot!( dumbass) you and your lizard boyfriend." still unsure, Mallory lowered her gun bit by bit, a sight of relief escaped Muriel's lips.

"Thank God, Thornie...you can switch back." Muriel said reassuringly.

"Thornie? is that your pet's name?" Mallory said mockingly, she was still not grasping the scene, nor liking the sight of it.

And although she knew what kind of creature the boyfriend was, her eyes still went bugging as she watched the giant lizard slowly turn back into a shirtless dark tone man, with the scariest yet familiar red eyes she'd seen before.

"Oh WTF?! Him?" she shouted, "First a demon and now a reptilian! ever tried a simple Normal human before Muriel?"

"When you stop messing with non humans as well, I will stop.

Besides, why the racism? We are not even fully humans ourselves sister...and I shall be damned if I took a love advice from you, You Fem Casanova!" Muriel replied.

"You got a problem with me being a reptilian Mallory? And btw, tone it down with them your eyes would ya?

You're burning a whole through my skull with how much you're glaring at me, you Gon need glasses like mine real soon." Thorn said while placing his thick-framed glasses back.

Thorn didn't intend to speak rudely to Mallory at first, but the fact that she didn't lower her gun the moment she saw her brother shielding him, bothered him Alot.

"I'm not mad because you're a lizard, just surprised.

Though I'm kinda mad i recognized you Thorn, Thorn Tang am I right?

I know you You bastard, we met in that pitiful high-class party seven years ago, you were dating that Guy Ferdinand back then, you even brought him to the event, didn't you?" Mallory said.

"Fernando." Thorn corrected her.

"Fernando, Ferdinand, Freddie, it doesn't matter what's his name, but when did you meet with my baby brother anyways?!

I know you're a good guy Thorn, but after Leonard, even you gotta upgrade your game if you wanna walk past me, Alpha." Mallory spoke eying him up and down.

"We met Two years ago, Muriel and I started working on joined projects together, we have one going on right now actually! you would've known shit was happening detective, if you stuck around to see it.

You left seven years ago for what? to become an officer when you can't even recall names correctly, Alpha." Thorn replied pissing her.

Mallory walked-up angrily to him lifting her gun up once more.

Horrified, "Sister stop it!! there is nothing worth worrying over." Muriel pleaded with her again.

"Last time you said that Muriel, I found you Holding a pistol to your temple, because of that green demon...it's true that I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most, but I won't do it again, I won't allow anyone else to break your heart." Mallow replied.

"Is this your idea of keeping me safe?! do you take me for a weakling sister?!"

Ignoring her brother, Mallory turned to Thorn "Listen Tang, I hope you don't think that by being rich and handsome, you're a perfect match for my brother, if you hurt him, you can count on me to blow your pretty head up.

I'm not Ned, I don't solve shit peacefully." Mallory said pointing the gun again at Thorn's head.

"Mallory for the love of God, s'il tu plaît arrêt ça !(please stop this) I will kick you out if you do not stop!" Muriel pleaded with her.

in a shocking move, Thorn pulled the gun even closer to his forehead, " What's stopping you Mall, shoot me?

That's right! it's a crime isn't it, officer Mallory Spencer... So unless you're ready for jail, I suggest you stop playing around, I won't be so forgiving if the stress you're causing did something bad to Muriel." he spoke to her, smirking.

Thorn knew that Mallory was all talk and no action, just trying to intimidate him.

Finally relaxing her face, Mallory smiled Pulling the gun away, "Not bad Thorn! you didn't even flinch or shiver." she said then glances at her brother, " I like this one brother... gotta admit he's a tough guy, still as scary from when I first met him."

"I just don't like older people like you Mall, they think they know best."

Scoffing, "Haha! I'm only three years older than you Thorn, anyways go help yourself out in the kitchen, I brought cake."

"Cool! what flavor?" Thorn asked, he found the quick shift in her mood interesting, just like the fact that she and Muriel Don't speak in the same fashion.

"I got half chocolate, half Vanilla." Mallory replied entering the kitchen.

Budding into the conversation, " Mallory, first of all thank you for not Un-aliving my boyfriend.

And second of all, what the hell just happened?! and last but not least, what are you doing here? last time I called you, you said you were too busy with a new case and did not have time for tea." Muriel asked angrily folding his arms as he followed his sister.

"Okay bro, what just happened was me testing 'Mister Cinnamon' here out.

As for why I'm here, I was forced to take a leave from work because I did something I shouldn't do to catch the culprit in my case.

Even though i caught the bastard, I got asked to go on this unwanted vacation As punishment...so I came here two days ago, to relax, despite relaxing not being my cup of tea." she replied.

"I don't get it, why being given a vacation is a punishment? what did you do to deserve it?" Thorn asked before stuffing a piece of cake in his mouth, Muriel sat next to him Wondering the same thing.

"I got shot few days ago while chasing that criminal, and i ran out of the hospital as soon as I woke up to catch him." Mallory replied, Thorn ended-up chocking on his cake as he heard her response, so she reached for the water to pour him a cup.

"SHOT?! ? MALLORY ARE YOU INSANE?!" Muriel shouted in disbelief, "Why did you not tell me? where did you get shot?!"

"What you gonna do about it darling? heal my wounds? Don't be ridiculous! you have a multimillionaire affairs to tend to idiot, the only thing you can offer me is a VIP room in a private hospital, besides it's not the first time I got shot." Mallory spoke pouring herself a cup of water.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, " Are you Bloody joking with me right now sister?!"

"That explains the condition of this place, also quick question, why get a new cake? there was already one in the fridge, I saw it earlier." Thorn Asked.

Smirking," I didn't buy these cakes, the cake shop owner kept giving them to me for free whenever we met *winks* I spent last night with them." she said playing with her hair.

Casually, "Oh! that explains how we didn't meet yesterday! Since you were supposed to be occupying the place." Thorn replied while cutting himself another piece of the cake.

"You are unbelievable!...ugh, you never change sister!" Muriel spoke Angrily, the sight of the cake revolted him.

"You okay bro? You're not one to say no to chocolate." Mallory asked while sipping on her water, "This morning sickness thing is annoying me, I could not even enjoy spaghetti!" Muriel replied making her choke on her drink.

Realizing he revealed his pregnancy, "Oops! Thornie honey, you might want to make a run for the door." Muriel said worriedly.

"YOU'RE PREGNANT?! *coughing* OH I'M FUCKING *coughing* SHOOTING THIS MOTHERFUCKER!" Mallory shouted, then leaped from her chair with her gun out.

Thorn shifted into his beast form quickly and bolted full speed out of the kitchen, gliding away while still munching on a piece of cake.

"GET BACK HERE THORN! DID THAT CAKE TASTE GOOD CUZ IT'S GONNA BE YOUR LAST! *growling* ATTENDS QUE JE T'ATTRAPE, CONNARD! ( wait until I catch you asshole)" Mallory screamed while running after him.

"SISTER PLEASE! SPARE HIM! I am serious about this one I promise! I will make sure he takes full responsibility, just let Thorn live!" Muriel shouted running after them.
