He had Audera crosscheck the promises that these demons made, so they could put any ounce of doubt behind them. She reconfirmed everything the special demon said, these folks were not lying, they were good!

They weren't lying, and the deals they offered came in three separate packages. Eighty-percent of them, primarily the lesser monsters, just wanted to be with their masters again, and get spoiled by those same human masters. That was their deal, to be accepted here again and cared for lovingly, in exchange for services they could provide for the town in exchange, such as some general protection.
