Yuuka's guilt
August 4, 2042*
After the failed Expedition to claim the Crown of Urizen each member was sent back to their homes, and now a day after the failed Expedition, the Relic expedition team goes back to school.
Yuuka's thoughts*
(Should I talk to Kaneki at School? No I shouldn't, he might hate me more...Then what am I supposed to do now?)
"Just give up on him already"
(Shut up... I wonder if he would no longer see me as his best friend... That would mean... I not only lost my best friend but my first love...)
Yuuka was walking her way to School while thinking about Kaneki.
???: hey! Yuuka!
(Hmm? Who is that?)
Someone called out to Yuuka from a far, when she looked back she saw a familiar face.
Natsuki: hey! Why didn't you answer my calls?! I've been calling you since yesterday!
It was Natsuki who was apparently calling Yuuka's phone since the previous day.
Yuuka: oh... Sorry Natsuki...
Natsuki took a close look at Yuuka and she noticed something different.
Natsuki: hey are you alright? You look sad.
Yuuka: why? Is it because I don't have any makeup?
Natsuki: no, I can tell. Is something wrong?
Yuuka: sigh~ since we're near school and we still have some time let's talk at a cafe that's nearby.
Natsuki: sure?
With Natsuki agreeing they both went to a nearby Cafe.
After they ordered their drinks and received their drinks Natsuki once again asked her the same question.
Natsuki: tell me Yuuka is something wrong?
Yuuka stopped sipping her tea answered.
Yuuka: yeah... And you probably know what's wrong.
Natsuki: Kaneki right?
Yuuka: yeah... It was just like in our camping trip.
Natsuki: is your cheek alright?
Yuuka: yeah. Although I still feel the sensation.
Natsuki: I see, Kaneki really was angry huh?
Yuuka: of course, I broke his promise with his best friend after all. I should've thought about his feelings first before I made Heike drop the Crown on his head.
Natsuki: You feel sad right? Because you think he hates you now?
Yuuka: ... Yeah...
Yuuka frowned when she answered.
Yuuka: I think I understand why he would hate me now...
Natsuki: I... Don't think he hates you.
Yuuka was confused.
Yuuka: what?
A few minutes later*
Yuuka and Natsuki finished their talk went their way back to school.
Yuuka: ... We're really close to school now...
Natsuki: yeah... If he doesn't come I'll talk to him after school he might listen to me.
Yuuka: do you really think your plan would work?
Natsuki: no but it's better than nothing.
Yuuka: I... I appreciate your help Natsuki.
Natsuki: no need to thank me,, I just want both my friends to stay close after all.
Yuuka: I see... Thanks. Well see ya.
Natsuki: bye.
Yuuka and Natsuki then parted ways.
Yuuka went inside the school first but she noticed something strange.

(Why is everyone looking at me?)
She continued to walk up until she reached her classroom and when she entered the classroom.
Yuuka: umm hey guys why was ev-
???: is it true?! Higanbana-kun slapped you in the face?!
Yuuka: wait how do you-
???: are you alright?! He didn't break your bones right?!
???: why would he even slap a girl?!
"Look everyone is worried"
Yuuka's thoughts*
(Shut up!)
The other Yuuka was trying to convince her that she doesn't need Kaneki.
Many of her classmates were either asking questions or judging Kaneki.
Shino, Miku, Sachi and Chikao were there as well but they couldn't tell anyone.
???: seriously that Higanbana guy really is just a violent brute.
When Yuuka heard that she snapped.
Yuuka: Everyone be quiet!
Everyone: !!!
Everyone backed off.
Ryueki: what's wrong?
Yuuka: it was smy fault he slapped me!
???: what?
Ryueki: what are you talking about? He slapped you for no reason.
???: yeah why would he even do that?
Yuuka: how did you guys even know?
Ryueki: I told them.
Yuuka: Seriously?! Why would you tell them Itadori-kun?!
Ryueki: hey I thought you need some support since Higanbana slapped you in the face for no reason.
Yuuka: you know very well he has reason why he slapped me.
???: what are you talking about? What was Kaneki's reason?
Yuuka: I... Broke his promise with his best friend.
Everyone went silent for a bit.
Everyone: Huh?! Seriously! That's it?!
???: that's so messed up it's just a promise!
???: yeah why would he be mad over that?!
Yuuka: ...
Azusa: that's because it wasn't a normal promise.
Azusa suddenly arrived.
???: what do you mean?
Azusa: That promise he made with his best friend is what started his friendship with her and so with it broken he's now upset because that promise is something like a symbol of his friendship with his best friend.
???: a symbol
Everyone made a concerned face since they can somewhat understand where Azusa is going.
Ryueki: so what?! He hit Mirai-san in the face!
Azusa: I know, but my cousin right now is thinking of Cutting off that hand he used to slap Mirai-san.
Everyone: What?!
Yuuka: what are you talking about?!
Azusa: Emi-kun told me he's going to check on my cousin because he was worried and when he entered his house and got to his room he heard him saying "I should remove this stupid arm that hurt my friend" pretty much over and over again.
Yuuka was in complete shock.
Azusa: anyways, I only came here since you guys were talking shit about my family see you guys later.
Azusa then left the classroom leaving Everyone in shock mostly Yuuka.
Querxes: hey everyone! Hmm? What's with your faces? Anyways it'll be a few minutes before class starts and also Kaneki won't be attending today.
A few hours later. Lunch*
Yuuka was sitting alone in the rooftop.
Yuuka's thoughts*
(Dammit! I really messed up! Kaneki is considering to remove his arm! I have to apologize soon!)
Yuuka was panicking and she also wants to apologize to Kaneki quickly as possible.
Meanwhile*
Kaneki: Bleurgh!
Kaneki was continuously vomiting blood.
Kaneki: it hurts, I hurt m-my f-friend.
Sword-san: [Kaneki-chan]
Kaneki: what do you want?
Sword-san: [what's wrong? Why are you crying?]
Kaneki: I don't want to talk about- Bleurgh!
Sword-san: [sigh~ just tell me what's wrong]
Kaneki: i-i h-h-hurt my f-friend.
Sword-san: [really? Who?]
Kaneki: Y-Yuuka i-i slapped her.
Sword-san: [why?]
Kaneki began talking to Sword-san for a few hours.
