Chapter 29: Yukari First Contact

The meeting room was filled with silence and tension until Halhard spoke, "They have been an intruder by the World Tree." Everyone was shocked, as they knew the protection their ancestors had placed around the sacred tree. "No one among the other nations has the strength to bypass the barrier, Father," said Hadriel intensely.

"I know that, my son," Halhard said with unease. "At first, when I saw someone enter the sacred ground, it was a young girl. I assumed she was lost until I noticed her foreign features: pale skin, white hair, and pupilless eyes," he added.

Halhard's expression turned serious. "When I attempted to gauge her strength with my mana, it felt as though I was suffocating and engulfed in an endless void. The girl showed no concern and paid no heed to my actions. She abruptly left through a portal without the need for any chants or magical circles. It seemed as though she possessed the ability to manipulate and bend space freely."

All members of the council exchanged worried glances. "What should we do, Halhard? You were there, so you must have an idea?" asked one of the council members. The former king thought carefully. "It is best we act quickly in case she returns, and if she is an enemy and wants to harm the World Tree or our people, we will be prepared."

"We will gather the Alpha Squad, as they are our elite warriors and strongest mages," suggests Hadriel. "I agree with you as well. We will setup a trap if she reappears again," said Halhard. The council members nodded in agreement, knowing that the fate of their people and their sacred tree rested on them.

The meeting was adjourned,and Lia approached her father as he stood up from his seat. She whispered, "Please, be careful." His eyes softened as he put a hand on her shoulder. "I will, my dear," he promised. "We will not let anything happen to the World Tree or our people." With that, he turned and walked away, gathering the strongest force in the Elven Kingdom.

The following morning, Yukari woke up in her bed, nestled against a body pillow that resembled her mother and Yumi sleeping peacefully. She yawned and greeted Yumi with a cheerful "Good morning, Yumi," before proceeding to have breakfast from one of the scrolls her mother had prepared. With a smile on her face, Yukari expressed her happiness at being able to savor the taste of her mother's cooking, despite no longer requiring sleep or sustenance.

"Now, let's go, Yumi. It's time for you to join the God Tree," Yukari declared, and Yumi emitted a small squeak of anticipation. Yukari pondered aloud, "Hmm, I wonder if that old man is still there," before opening a portal that would take them to the God Tree.

Emerging from the portal, Yukari floated gracefully above the God Tree, holding Yumi in her hands. A mischievous smile formed on her lips as she amusedly remarked, "FuFu, it seems someone has prepared a welcoming party just for me. How touching." She couldn't contain her laughter, surprised that the old man had actually taken action.

The army and Halhard watched in awe as Yukari floated above them, her laughter echoing through the air. She glanced down at the army, her eyes filled with interest. "Not a single one of them possesses the strength of a low-level Otsutsuki. Are they simply seeking death?" she pondered. Her laughter took on a sinister tone as she resolved, "Very well, I shall grant them their wish. This won't be my first kill, but it will be my first true fight."

Halhard yelled, "Who are you and why have you trespassed to the Sacred Ground of the World Tree?" Yukari turned her Byuakugen on while chuckling. She tilted her head, her eyes drawn to their features, and asked, "Hmmm, What are you?"

The elderly man, who had blond hair, green eyes, and pointy ears, had attractive features. She said, her eyes widening, "You all seem to be connected to God tree, but do not have chakra, Is that Natural energy?"

Yukari changed her demeanor to a calm and noble aura. She looked at Halhard with her Byakugen active, staring straight into his eyes. Halhard became nervous, feeling all his secrets were being revealed. "How about this? You answer one of my question and I answer yours?" Yukari said.

Halhard hesitated for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. "Very well," he said, his voice low and measured. "What would you like to know?" Yukari paused for a moment, considering her options. She had many questions, but she chose the most obvious. Finally, she spoke. "What is your connection to the God tree?" she asked, her eyes never leaving Halhard's.

"Our ancestors were born from the branches of the World Tree, we are their descendants tasked with protecting it as we worship it." Halhard said it with confidence. "Oh, how amazing you all are, just like a white zetsu," Yukai said. He was confused but asked, "What is your purpose?"

"My purpose, hmmm, I guess I will be honest. You see, I am going to harvest this God tree" she said ominously as Yukari flared her chakra. Yukari's chakra was so powerful that it created a deep pit. The group stood in shock as Yukari revealed her true intentions of harvesting the God tree, leaving Halhard and the others worried for the safety of their sacred tree.

Halhard's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. "Harvest the God tree? But that's impossible! The tree is sacred and has been protected for generations!" he exclaimed. Yukari simply shrugged. "I have my reasons," she said cryptically.

Halhard could sense that there was more to this than meets the eye. He had a bad feeling about this woman and her intentions for the God tree. "I cannot allow you to harm the World Tree in any way," he said firmly, standing his ground. Yukari smirked. "We'll see about that," she said, disappearing.

But in a split second, Yukari appeared behind Halhard and delivered a swift kick to his stomach. He gasped for air and fell to the ground, writhing in pain. Yukari stood over him with a wicked grin. "You should have stayed out of my way," she said menacingly.
