Chapter 18: Leave the World?

Her daughter's eyes widened in surprise and confusion as she processed the idea of leaving the planet. With a heavy heart, Kaguya nodded, fully aware of the enormity of her request. "I understand it may seem overwhelming, but I genuinely believe it's the best path for you," she explained softly. "You possess immense potential, and I don't want it to go to waste here on this planet."

Taking a moment to collect herself, Kaguya took a deep breath before continuing. "There are boundless worlds out there with God Trees, offering resources and opportunities for you to evolve. I have been working on a plan to accelerate the growth of the chakra fruit blooming, which should be completed in a few years," she revealed.

As she looked at her daughter, who was clearly shocked, Kaguya couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt. She was unsure how her daughter would react, fearing that she might hate the idea. Kaguya gently reached out, grasping Yukari's hand, seeking to comfort her in this moment of uncertainty.

The room fell into a heavy silence as Yukari grappled with the news. A mix of surprise and a sense of abandonment overwhelmed her, leading tears to stream down her cheeks. Her voice trembled as she questioned, "Do you not love me, Mom?".

Hearing her daughter's words, Kaguya's heart shattered. Holding her daughter tightly, she whispered words of reassurance, her voice filled with genuine affection. "My love for you knows no bounds, my dear. You are my world, my most cherished treasure."

"But I also want you to have the chance to explore and experience all that this universe has to offer. You have a special gift, Yukari, and I want you to use it to its fullest potential." Kaguya gently pulled back, her gaze locked with her daughter's, as she lovingly wiped away her tears. "My deepest desire is for your happiness, and my love for you surpasses any bounds a mother should have. My heart, body, and soul belong to you, my sweetie. The mere thought of being apart breaks my heart. You were the first person who awakened such intense emotions within me, including genuine love."

Yukari, her tear-stained face filled with a mix of sadness and determination, spoke up, her voice was soft but demanding. "Promise me that you'll always love me and that we'll be together when I return," she implored, her Byakugan activated, tears continuing to flow. "No one will ever take you away. You are mine."

Kaguya's smile grew even warmer, her hand tenderly cupping Yukari's cheek. "I promise, my love. My love for you is unwavering. When you return, we will be together, forever." She held her daughter tightly, as if trying to etch the moment into her very being.

"But please, promise me something in return, Yukari. Promise me that you will take care of yourself and return to me safely." Yukari nodded, tears still streaming down her face. "I promise, Mom. I will come back to you."

Yukari nestled closer to her mother, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed softly. "Hiccup, I really don't want to leave, but I understand it's necessary." They embraced each other tightly, their tears mingling with their unspoken emotions. They knew they had to make the most of the next four years, cherishing every precious moment together.

Amidst their tearful embrace, a thought weighed heavily on Kaguya's mind. Did her daughter resent her for making this decision? Was Kaguya's choice a reflection of her own cowardice? The questions tugged at her heart.

Breaking away from the embrace, Yukari shook her head vigorously, her voice filled with love and understanding. "No, Mom, I could never hate you for this. I see why you've made this difficult choice, and I know it's not because you're a coward. You're doing what's best for our family, and I love you even more for it." Kaguya's eyes welled up with tears once again, her heart brimming with a mixture of relief and overwhelming love.

They remained locked in a warm embrace until morning, knowing that it was time to return home. The journey had been truly unforgettable, and Yukari cherished the moments spent with her mother, feeling an undeniable closeness between them.

As they stood together at the entrance of the hot spring, prepared to depart, a mix of emotions filled their hearts. She couldn't fathom the idea of being separated from her mother, as she had become so dependent on her presence and love.

Kaguya gazed at her daughter, still haunted by the feeling that her actions had distanced them. She had simply opened a portal and directed everyone to let them return home, but it left her with a sense of guilt. Yukari noticed her mother's remorseful demeanor and lingered behind, understanding the weight of her decision.

She reassured her mother with heartfelt words, "No matter the choices you make, Mom, please know that my love for you will always remain." Kaguya watched as her daughter swiftly departed, following behind her brothers.

Stunned by her daughter's words, Kaguya stood frozen in the courtyard. The winds howled around her, amplifying the small whimper that escaped her lips. She sank to her knees, overwhelmed by a torrent of uncontrollable sobs.

In that moment, she let go of all her inhibitions, allowing her emotions to flow freely. Hidden from prying eyes, she unleashed her anguish. "Why? Why can't I simply be with my family, free from the constant threat of my clan?" she screamed, her voice filled with desperation. "All I ever wanted was a life of happiness," she pleaded, her chakra trembling with each agonizing cry.

As tears streamed down her face, Kaguya's thoughts turned to the countless sacrifices she had made for her clan. She had always prioritized their needs above her own, but now she questioned the toll it had taken on her.

The pain in her heart intensified as she imagined the alternative life she could have lived, unburdened by the weight of her sacrificial duty. The weight of her responsibilities felt stifling, and she yearned for the freedom to choose her own path.

Yet, deep down, she knew that such a dream was futile. She was bound to this life, trapped by her actions. She wiped away her tears, longing for a continuation of the peaceful moments they had experienced during their trip.
