Chapter 9: Tobi and Shisui**

**Ninja Academy.**

It was still before morning class, and the playground was bustling with noise. A group of young boys, tall and short, were gathered in the center of a chaotic brawl, surrounded by spectators.

"Fire Style! Phoenix Fire Jutsu!"

One of the boys made hand seals and spat forward at the group, startling a few, but only a small flame came out.

After a brief pause, the boys across from him burst into laughter.

"This is called ninjutsu?!"

"Go! Beat him up!"

"…You bastards, take this!"

About seven or eight boys were in a full-blown fight, clearly younger students who barely knew any jutsu and were simply brawling. Among them, two slightly older boys were fighting with more skill, using techniques like the Shadow Clone Jutsu and other basic ninjutsu.

The crowd watching ranged from cheering them on to stirring up trouble. The scene was chaotic, and because it was so early, no Jonin teacher had come to intervene.

"Watching this?"

Fengye appeared a little ways off, glancing at the center of the brawl before walking over and patting the shoulder of someone standing on the edge of the crowd.

The person jumped, turning around to see Fengye. It was Hinata, and she immediately let out a relieved sigh, saying, "Good morning, Fengye."

"Morning."

Fengye smiled, saying, "Let's go to the classroom."

He had no interest in watching kids fight.

Hinata glanced back at the fight, hesitating for a moment, and said, "That… um…"

"Hm?" Fengye looked at her.

Hinata helplessly said, "Yoh is over there, looks like he's getting beaten up."

"Yoh?" Fengye asked, confused.

Hinata pointed toward the brawl, indicating one of the boys, "There, that's him, Yoh. He's my uncle's cousin…"

Fengye had never heard of him.

Fengye shrugged, showing no interest in a character who wasn't even a side character, and said, "Boys fighting is normal. You girls should stay out of it, anyway, a Jonin teacher will definitely be watching from the sidelines. No need to worry."

However, the crowd of students stumbled and fell, and the boys fighting were immediately separated by the sudden tremor.

Hinata steadied herself, but before she could finish speaking, Fengye gave her a silencing gesture with his finger and whispered with a smile, "Alright, that should stop the fight. Let's go."

The students who had been knocked off balance didn't understand what had just happened, thinking there had been an earthquake, and the chaos was finally brought to a halt.

But not everyone was confused.

A boy in the crowd furrowed his brow and looked in Fengye's direction, clearly recognizing that the earthquake was a jutsu.

"Messing around, huh…"

The boy shook his head.

He appeared slightly younger than Kakashi and wore clothes with the Uchiha clan's insignia. Though he was inconspicuous in the crowd, his name was well-known.

Uchiha Shisui!

Unlike Uchiha Tobi, Shisui was a prodigy who was nearly as talented as Uchiha Itachi. Even before awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, he had made a name for himself on the battlefield of the Mist Village, and after unlocking it, he gained the infamous "Kotoamatsukami," the strongest genjutsu of the Mangekyō Sharingan!

It wasn't just Hinata and Shisui who had noticed Fengye's Earthquake Jutsu. Another student, who had been watching Fengye closely since the start, was also aware.

"...Fengye, you're really out of control, huh?"

"Hey! Fengye, let's settle this with a fight!"

It was Uchiha Tobi who was challenging him.

Tobi, having had an unusually smooth morning, had arrived early and was in a good mood, but when he saw Fengye and Rin chatting and laughing, his mood quickly soured.

Since the atmosphere on the playground was already charged with fighting, Tobi angrily clenched his fist and approached.

"Boring."

Fengye glanced at Tobi.

Hinata was also speechless.

"Tobi really is part of the Uchiha clan? This gap is… kind of embarrassing…"

In the adults' stories, the Uchiha clan was spoken of with reverence, and the members were said to be genius ninjas, always among the top of their class. But with Tobi, the difference was too big.

Just as Hinata finished speaking, a voice came from the side.

Shisui, who had been standing nearby, calmly spoke.

Though Tobi and he were both from the Uchiha clan, their relationship wasn't close, but when the Uchiha clan's name was mentioned, Shisui couldn't ignore it.

"You are…"

Hinata blinked, looking at Shisui in surprise, "Uchiha Shisui?!"

The name Uchiha Shisui was well-known in the ninja academy. His grades were always the best in his class, and just recently, he had defeated a lower-ranked ninja! His level was high enough that he could graduate early, and to many people, Shisui was the only prodigy in their generation close to Kakashi's talent!
