Chapter 7: Kakashi and Might Guy

"That's not really fair," Kakashi said, staring at Ryo with his deadpan look. "No wonder I can't ever win against you—using a bloodline ability like that is practically cheating."

Ryo chuckled and replied, "When did using a bloodline ability become cheating for ninjas? But since you put it that way, I suppose I won't use that power for our next match."

Kakashi was indeed a genius.

Although Ryo inherited the same bloodline from the Konoha White Fang, his talent in ninjutsu wasn't quite on Kakashi's level. However, that didn't stop Ryo from being stronger, because he'd spent far more time training. 

The time acceleration effect wasn't just evident in battle; it applied to training as well. Since his arrival in this world, Ryo had spent at least twice as much time training as Kakashi!

"...Never mind, I'll pass," Kakashi eventually said, shaking his head.

Bloodline abilities were indeed a natural part of a ninja's skill set, and not considered cheating. Even if Kakashi were to win without using Ryo's bloodline, it wouldn't really mean much.

There was never a rule in the ninja world forbidding the use of bloodline abilities.

"But even if you have a bloodline, that doesn't mean you'll always be stronger than me. If you're not careful, I might still overtake you," Kakashi said, not looking discouraged. After all, in the ninja world, bloodlines weren't invincible.

The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, had no bloodline ability but was still feared as one of the strongest among the Five Kages!

"I'll be waiting for you to overtake me," Ryo grinned, reaching out to pat Kakashi on the head, only for Kakashi to frown and leap away.

Just as Kakashi was about to complain about Ryo treating him like a child, a lively voice suddenly rang out from nearby.

"Ah, Kakashi! There you are! I've been looking for you for so long..."

Ryo turned around, and saw a boy in a green jumpsuit charging out of the bushes. The familiar appearance left no doubt as to his identity.

It was Might Guy!

Guy charged straight past Ryo and leaped at Kakashi, delivering a powerful taijutsu kick.

"Let's settle this, Kakashi! Take this—Leaf Hurricane!"

"..." Kakashi gave Guy a look devoid of any enthusiasm, and wearily raised his arm to block the kick. He then countered with a horizontal kick.

Guy took Kakashi's blow and felt a surge of energy rise within him. "This time, I'll definitely win, Kakashi! Take this!!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!!

In an instant, Guy and Kakashi were in a fierce battle.

Just like in the original story, Guy had viewed Kakashi as a rival since they were in the academy and had been striving to challenge him ever since.

Ryo watched the battle from the side, shrugging before jumping up onto a tree branch to watch. 

Might Guy, who could eventually master the Eighth Gate, had a natural talent for taijutsu, but he had not yet reached that level. Though he could overpower Kakashi in taijutsu alone, the moment Kakashi used ninjutsu and other techniques, the difference in their abilities would immediately become clear.

Crackle!

Due to his recent defeat at Ryo's hands, Kakashi wasn't in the best of moods. After a few exchanges with Guy, he resorted to using lightning release ninjutsu. A lightning bolt sent Guy flying, his hair standing on end, emitting a burnt smell.

"Ugh... damn..." 

Guy lay a short distance away, knowing he had been defeated again, but instead of giving up, he gritted his teeth and, with smoke still rising from his body, declared, "Next time... I'll win!"

Kakashi crossed his arms and shook his head, "You might as well give up now. You'll never beat me. Trying to beat me is more impossible than Ryo beating me."

"Thanks for the encouragement..."

Guy climbed to his feet and gave Kakashi a thumbs-up.

But then he paused, slightly stunned, as he recalled what Kakashi had just said. "Wait, Kakashi, what did you just say?"

"Nothing," Kakashi replied with a shake of his head.

Guy furrowed his brow, his gaze shifting suspiciously to Ryo, who was sitting on a nearby tree branch.

Did Kakashi just say... he couldn't beat Ryo?

Though Ryo was Kakashi's older brother, Guy never thought about who was stronger between them, because there was no comparison. After all, Kakashi had graduated at five and become a Chuunin at six, while Ryo had only ranked among the top students in the class.

He must have misheard.

Kakashi probably meant that his chances of beating him were even slimmer than Ryo beating him... Guy relaxed his furrowed brows.

Whoosh!

Ryo suddenly leapt down from the tree and asked, "Are you guys planning to continue training, or do you want to go grab something to eat?"

Since Guy often challenged Kakashi and trained with him, Ryo and Guy were somewhat familiar with each other. Though Guy and his father, Might Dai, often attracted strange stares, Ryo never mocked them.

One could release all Eight Gates and send the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist scattering, causing even the survivors like Suigetsu to be traumatized.

Another could unleash the Eight Gates and beat Six Paths Madara, nearly kicking Kaguya Ootsutsuki's coffin lid off!

And he was ashamed that he was still trying to master the Eight Gates.

That said, the Eight Gates was a difficult technique—though it was simple and crude to learn, perfecting it required near hellish training over many years.

Only people like Guy and Might Dai could endure such a torturous process and take it to the extreme.

"...I just lost to Kakashi, so I have to do 3000 squats before I eat anything."

Upon hearing Ryo's question, Guy responded and immediately began doing squats, completely ignoring Kakashi's exasperated gaze.

Seeing Guy dive straight into training, Kakashi shook his head and said to Ryo, "I'm not hungry either. I want to continue training."

It wasn't that Guy had influenced him, but that he had been pushed by Ryo. With Ryo's bloodline abilities, Kakashi had been left far behind, and if he didn't push himself, Ryo might surpass him completely. That was something he couldn't accept.

"Alright, then I'll go eat first," Ryo said nonchalantly. 

His daily routine was out of sync with most people's because of his time acceleration ability. He needed to eat at least five meals a day, and the actual time he spent training likely exceeded the combined total of Guy and Kakashi's training time!
