Chapter 608 : A Double Bluff!

Orochimaru fell to the ground and looked very vulnerable. It seemed like it would take just a push to kill him for good. Even so, Fujin didn't jump ahead to attack him impatiently. Instead, he looked at Orochimaru with disdain and cursed, 'This snake! Does he think he can fool anyone after recovering completely from that explosion? None of the bullets even hit his heart or brain. Even Kakuzu put up a better act!'

Not wanting to fall prey to his schemes, Fujin created a shadow clone.

'Wind Release: Infinite Breakthrough jutsu'

'Fire Release: Searing Migraine jutsu'

Fujin knew that even though he was great at close combat, someone like Orochimaru had too many hidden cards. So, he used the combination attack to test what he was planning.

He was initially thinking about using the Vacuum Serial Waves jutsu, but he knew that Orochimaru would dodge it with ease. Having already lost a third of his chakra, Fujin wanted to preserve his chakra in case Orochimaru pulled out a surprise like the Edo Tensei jutsu.

Orochimaru, who was looking very feeble, looked at the incoming sea of firestorm and thought, 'As expected, he didn't take the bait. I can finally reset the momentum. I got sucked into his pace due to his stunt and it would be disadvantageous if he continued controlling the flow of the battle.

Still, to think that I'd lose my sword of Kusanagi here of all places... I underestimated this kid. He is much stronger than the likes of Kabuto and Kakashi.'

Orochimaru had expected that Fujin wouldn't attack and hence managed to double bluff Fujin! He rubbed his right arm on his injuries, staining it with blood and slammed it into the ground.

'Summoning jutsu!'

A massive snake appeared and surrounded him. The combination jutsu hit the snake. Massive cuts and intense burns appeared on its body causing it to hiss in pain. However, it resisted Fujin's combination attack with relative ease.

Under the cover of his massive summon, Orochimaru began shedding his skin once again to heal himself. Fujin sensed it and went on the attack once again.

The massive snake noticed Fujin and dived down towards Fujin. Vacuum cores formed along the sharp edge of Fujin's sword once again as he slashed his sword multiple times towards the snake and Orochimaru, who was hiding behind it.

Even though the snake Orochimaru summoned wasn't Manda, its size meant that a simple Wind jutsu couldn't kill it. Even though there were several cuts and burns on its body, they were far from being able to cause it any permanent harm.

Unfortunately for the snake, it couldn't imagine how sharp Fujin's Vacuum Slashes would be. As it saw the incoming slashes, it suddenly felt an intense danger. However, it was too late by then. It couldn't avoid the Vacuum Slashes that pierced into its massive body and cut straight through it.

Due to the size of the snake, Renjiro and Hoka could see it from the tower. Even Anko, Sakura and a few Anbu saw it. To their shock, they first saw a massive firestorm engulfing it. And seconds later, they saw that ginormous snake being sliced into pieces!

Hoka wondered aloud, "What the hell is happening there?"

Renjiro replied, "That's Orochimaru's summon… I didn't think it'd be possible to cut it up."

He glanced at Fujin's clone as he said it but Fujin's clone didn't reply. Anko, who had just reached the close to the location, was shocked as well. Just like Hoka, she muttered, "What the hell? Who cut up that giant snake?"

She took another step forward but suddenly stopped as she felt a chakra. Winds suddenly began flowing strangely around her, making her alert. She looked carefully as the winds took the form of a human-shaped figure. To her surprise, Fujin's face appeared on that figure!

Fujin's wind clone looked at Anko and said, "Don't interfere in the battle ahead. You aren't a match for him."

A tick mark appeared on Anko's forehead as she argued, "That's Orochi fucking maru! Don't overestimate yourself brat! I know a jutsu that I can use to eliminate him!"

Fujin knew what jutsu she meant and the fact that it wouldn't make any difference against Orochimaru. Fujin's clone strictly said, "That wasn't a request, Anko. Don't forget that I'm the one in charge of this round of the exam. Stay here and ensure that no one interferes in this battle. That's an order.

If you want to help me, send a messenger to Lord Hokage and ask him to come here immediately. Until he arrives and takes charge, no one is allowed to interfere in the battle."

With Fujin's strict tone, Anko calmed down. Even though she wanted to take revenge against her former teacher, she knew that she shouldn't violate the chain of command. The fact that Fujin had sliced up the massive snake moments ago also played a role in it.

Fujin's clone was about to disperse when she said, "I have already done so but I'm worried that it might be a trap to kill Lord Hokage!"

Fujin's clone replied as he dispersed into the wind, "It isn't but ask him to bring along a few Anbu squads just in case."

Seeing Fujin disappear, Anko thought, 'It looks like his reputation isn't just a rumor. To find Orochimaru so quickly and to be able to fight him for so long… He is the real deal! I now understand why Lord Hokage put him in charge.'

Similar thoughts ran through the minds of the Anbu and Chunin examiners who saw the massive snake being sliced up. Anko created a Shadow Clone to pass Fujin's message to other examiners and send them to Hiruzen's office. While her clone left, she stayed there in case Fujin requested her help.

Even though Fujin butchered Orochimaru's summon, Orochimaru wasn't bothered about its loss. He had already healed himself with his jutsu and easily dodged the Vacuum Slash heading towards him.

By now, Fujin had realized that Orochimaru had double-bluffed him to buy some time. Hence, Fujin decided to go on the offense once again.

He was about to flicker when he suddenly sensed a chakra trying to invade his chakra network. At the very next moment, Fujin disrupted his chakra, stopping Orochimaru's attempt at Genjutsu.

Fujin didn't even need a second to stop Orochimaru's Genjutsu. However, that time was enough for Orochimaru to take the initiative. Fujin saw two Shadow Clones of Orochimaru slithering towards him at high speeds. In addition, he could sense his main body retreating for some distance.

Orochimaru noticed that Fujin had snapped out of the Genjutsu almost instantly and thought, 'Hmm, since he was so good at Ninjutsu, I expected his Genjutsu to be weak. However, it looks like he has no trouble resisting Genjutsu. It'll be difficult to put him under a Genjutsu without a Sharingan.'

Fujin swung his blade at the incoming Shadow Clones, launching another Vacuum Slash. However, both dodged the attack easily. One of Orochimaru's clones exhaled a large amount of Poison and another used the Great Breakthrough jutsu to spread that poison.

A frown appeared on Fujin's face as he thought, 'Even though I have learnt a lot about poisons in the last couple of months, I should be nowhere near his level in this aspect. I shouldn't let this poison float around. It'll be harder to detect it later and I'll be in trouble if he is able to use it later on.'

Wind chakra flowed through Fujin's sword once again as Fujin swung it. Once again, Orochimaru's clones became alert and prepared to dodge the incoming attack. However, Fujin's sword didn't unleash the Vacuum Slash. Instead, a wind stream was created along the arc of Fujin's blade.

The wind stream nullified the winds created by Orochimaru's clone while trapping the poison gas released by the other clone inside the winds and diverting it towards the sky. Two Shadow Clones suddenly appeared next to Fujin.

One of Fujin's clones took control of the wind stream and ensured that all the poisons flew into the sky. While he did so, Fujin ignored Orochimaru's clones and went after his main body. Orochimaru's clones immediately gave chase but were stopped by Fujin's other clone, who stepped in their way.

Orochimaru's clones became serious as they noticed an extremely unstable wind orb in the clone's hand. One of Orochimaru's clones asked with interest, "What's this jutsu? It almost looks like the Fourth's Rasengan but doesn't have the same amount of chakra or stability as it is made with the Wind Vacuum Technique."

To his surprise, Fujin's clone entertained him and said with a smile on his face, "This one is my own creation. Please critique it."

He threw the wind orb towards Orochimaru's clones. Both the clones immediately got out of the way as they expected it to explode and be as fast as Fujin's other jutsus. To their surprise, the jutsu was extremely slow. Even a Genin wouldn't have any issue dodging it.

The same clone asked in a puzzled tone, "Is this another one of your time-wasting tactics?"

Just as he finished asking his question, the wind orb exploded! 81 Vacuum Blades were launched randomly in every direction! Due to their proximity, Orochimaru's clones couldn't dodge in time and were dispelled.

Fujin's clones were expecting the attack and dodged the waves. Even then, one clone dispelled himself while the other dispelled himself after ensuring that the poison wouldn't be an issue.

Some distance away, Fujin and Orochimaru's main bodies were once again facing each other. A sly smile could be seen on Orochimaru's face as he said, "Not bad, not bad at all!"
