Chapter 19 : Land Of Snow Arc 5

Shikamaru's words shook Yukie, but before they could say anything more, there was a slight tremble in the tunnel, something which Yukie didn't notice at all but Shikamaru did.

Yukie too though noticed when Shikamaru was looking around trying to sense what just he felt. Didn't take him long as they felt the heat from the ground, the snow in the tunnel melted as bright rail track was visible to both of them.

"This..." This Shikamaru wanted to remember if something like this happened in the anime but before that, his mind clicked.

'Tremble + Tunnel + Sudden emergence of rail track' Shikamaru immediately added all the factors and his eyes widen.

"Shit... Divine Wolf Grey," Shikamaru shouted, Yukie was taken aback by the sudden action from the young boy and was stunned before fear struck her.

From Shikamaru's shadow started to emerge a giant grey monster. With razor-sharp teeth. Yukie's heart almost skips an entire period there.

"What are you spacing out at, this is not the time, we gotta go," shouted Shikamaru and then grabbed her princess style and hopped on top of the Grey Warewolf.

"GO." With that said, both the grey wolves bolted out of there, exactly on the opposite side of there Shikamaru could hear the noise coming.

"Wh.. What are you doing, put me down," Yukie finally processed what was going on and immediately started to cause some ruckus.

"Damn troublesome woman, look back and talk," Shikamaru shouted back, focusing on just getting out of the tunnel as soon as possible.

Yukie still didn't get it but she still did what Shikamaru said and her eyes widened too,... "What wanaa get ou..."

"Run run run run run, don't stop please, faster faster," Yukie started to shout.

"Troublesome, if only this was not 'Running' but something else," Shikamaru muttered under his breath.

Huff huff.... huff. Yukie was huffing, totally breathless. 

Shikamaru eyes twitched at this, "Oi cut the act, you didn't run at all, this guy here was doing the heavy lifting here," Shikamaru almost shouted as he pointed his finger at the grey wolf in front of him.

"Who cares, I almost forgot to take a breath back then, why didn't you tell me that before," Yukie shouted back. 

"This is such a drag... anyway we need to go back. This place is not safe," Shikamaru cooled his temper and started walking. Yukie though didn't know what she wanted to do, but ultimately knowing that she is only safe if she is with the Konoha shinobi, she just ended up following Shikamaru.

While walking both didn't talk much to each other, but there was a comfortable silence, for Yukie because Shikamaru wasn't asking any tough questions, while Shikamaru was happy because he was saved from the troublesome situation of talking and comforting a girl who doesn't know what to do.

As both of them almost reached the place where the crew was stationed, They saw something horrible.

It was Doto's goons, they came with an entire train and started to fight on with the crew. Yukie's mouth was wide open. She almost lost her footing and went down on her knee but Shikamaru caught her.

"Shit, I didn't remember anything like time," Shikamaru muttered to himself, this situation in front of him again reminded him that this world is different from his world, a world filled with killing and violence. For a few seconds, his mind was so disturbed that he didn't even notice someone creeping up to him.

Only in the very second the attack was about to happen, he reacted. Taking Yukie in his arms, he jumped up as an avalanche came towards them. 

Although Shikamaru moved because of the avalanche, he still didn't notice the presence of other people there, this was one of his weaknesses, he can't sense others.

Although he was away from the attack zone at this time, he noticed that Yukie in her arm was snatched away with the help of a ninja wire by someone.

"Yukie," he shouted as he saw the same purple-haired man snatching her away and with a smirk, make one hand sign in front of him.

Before he could process it, he was surrounded by the snow as it turned into a snow dragon and rushed at him.

"NUE" Shikamaru with his quick thinking immediately made a hand sign but before that, the snow fell on him.

"..."

"..." 

"Boom" 

All the snow blasted off a huge bird appeared and flew off, and on top of that bird was Shikmaru.

"Flight, lightning bolt and even act like a shield. You are more useful than my teammates," Shikamaru praised, earning a shriek from Nue, his new spirit.

He noticed that Doto's man took Yukie through air, he could even see the aircraft from here,

"Good thing that you are my fourth Spirit, Let's save that troublesome princess," Said Shikamaru.

While this was happening, Asuma, Ino and Choji were the only ones fighting against Doto's other goons. They were not that special, unfortunately, Asuma or his two students couldn't say the same for the armour they were wearing. It was something which raised their fighting power from a mere genin to even that of a Chunin. 

Fighting to save whoever is left for the crew and protecting his genin is the most important thing.

The biggest thing which was troubling him right now was the whereabout of Shikamaru.

It was pretty hard to handle all the enemies but after the attack, they didn't stick around for long for Asuma's relief. 

And that was when he saw a small toad lingering around him, constantly following while trembling so as not to get stepped on. 

"Kawai," Ino screamed the moment she saw the toad.

Scooping it up in her hands, it was a toad but still, it looked pretty cute strangely. Asuma knows that there are currently only two people who have some sort of connection with Toads and both of them belong to Konoha. 

First is of course the Toad Sage, Jiraiya while the other is none other than his own student.

As he was thinking the toad opened his wide mouth and from there came out a small scroll. Handing it over to Asuma.'

Asuma took it immediately and gave it a read. 

His eyes widen.

"What happened Sensei," Choji asked.

"Yukie is kidnapped and Shikamaru has gone after her," Asuma let out a groan.
