Chapter 39 - Everything Is Starting To Make Sense

''Time to wake up!'' Sukuna's side was nudged as a figure leaned over the bed with a plate in her hands. 

Rin kneeled next to the bed and poked his cheek as his slowly opened his eyes, ''Goodmorning'' 

''Morning, breakfast is getting cold'' Rin said with a bright smile as she put it on his cabinet. 

''Thank you'' Sukuna said as he got up and stretched himself while Rin smiled at him and said, ''My classes start, so I have to go. Rest some more!'' 

''Don't worry about me, focus on your classes'' Sukuna smiled lightly as he looked at the mushroom soup and bread. 

Rin said goodbye before leaving as Kushina's voice came from within his head, 

{Rin-chan likes younger guys huh} 

[Not just her, the kid has been making sure his direct linage would be continued by more than one source] Isobu chimed in as Sukuna retorted, 

''Can you two not frame me? My innocence is precious'' 

[Oh please, we both know you would like to eat them up if it wasn't for the little amount of morals you had left] Isobu sarcastically said. 

{I can vouch for that} Kushina's teasing voice came in as well. 

''You two have gotten great at teaming up against me within a single night'' Sukuna's eyes squinted as they laughed at him. 

{Come on, it's a joke brat. I didn't even know you were a child until Naruto said you were younger than him} Kushina said with a grin on her face. 

''Indeed, a child younger than your son could also do this-….'' Sukuna's eyes squinted as multiple chains shot from the translucent ground inside his mind space. 

Kushina didn't even have the time to react before the chains pinned her to the ground while Sukuna's figure appeared in front of her as he kneeled to her height and leaned his head on one of his hands. 

{You truly don't know how to treat a lady} Kushina said with a bitter smile as the chains loosened while Sukuna just grinned and shrugged, 

''Then teach me, if you don't want to, don't complain about it'' 

Kushina looked at the brat with a stunned expression as his figure disappeared, she looked at Isobu and asked, {Is he always like this?} 

[You should know just as well, it isn't just the Nine Tails he is interested in] Isobu responded with a grin. 

Kushina's expression turned into shock before she started laughing, 

{What a shameless brat} 

Isobu looked at her as if she lost her mind as he knew Sukuna's thought process quite well by now, this poor woman didn't have the slightest idea yet.... 

… 

Just like that, a month passed. Sukuna had been resting for most of the time while trying to calm the commotion along with the Hyúga's and other Shinobi that were in favor of him becoming the 5th Hokage. 

In all honesty, if it wasn't because of circumstances pushing him, he would've liked to build the Senju's up for a few more years before he became Hokage, but he was quite literally the only one that could take the seat without Sukuna having to break his brain about loyalty. 

Yes, Tsunade was quite loyal considering all the things she did already including capturing the One Tails for him. But.... 

He could also just take the seat himself and let his clones do the paperwork together with Tsunade and Shizune. 

Problem solved. 

Tsunade, who was currently talking to several Shinobi's that originally wanted to retire, suddenly felt a chill run down her span as she cursed Sukuna without having to confirm that it was him making some weird plan for her. 

Sukuna heard a knock on the door before the sound of footsteps came upstairs, revealing Akai that smiled at him with a bitter smile on her face. 

''You seemed quite tired'' Sukuna said as she came closer. 

''We're trying to hasten the progress on annexing the Sarutobi Clan's property while implementing the new rules, so it's quite busy'' Akai said with a light smile as she sat next to him on the bed. 

''Mmm, don't overdo it. Let the people adjust and make sure they feel enough freedom to leave if they wish too'' Sukuna said as he got up and stretched his body, causing his bone to creak from the lack of activity lately due to him recovering. 

''You seem to have grown taller again'' Akai said in confusion as she stood up, Sukuna was already quite tall for his age. 

Akai stood next in front of him and noticed he even grew past her while she was 5'11 (179cm), he was standing a confident few centimeters above her. 

''Just what the hell are you eating'' Akai said in confusion as she kept comparing their height with her hand tapping Sukuna's head over and over. 

Sukuna had a conflicted expression as his mind was thinking, he wasn't stationary for this past month and continued doing the things he must.... and wanted to know. 

For the last part, he needed Akai's input. 

''Akai.....'' Sukuna sighed and looked at Akai before saying, ''If Maran.... Grandma decided to leave the village, would you stay or leave'' 

Akai was perplexed by the question as she replied, ''Stay ofcourse, grandmother told me to serve you. But why would she leave?'' 

Sukuna tried to find the words for nearly a minute as he sat down on the bed and said, ''What if I was not human?'' 

''N...not human? That is ridiculous, I've seen you grow up!'' Akai firmly denied as Sukuna said, ''Just imagine, what if...'' 

''Would that change anything?'' Akai asked as plopped onto the bed with a nonchalant smile as she looked at the ceiling, ''Many humans are worse than monsters. The Tailed Beast are feared for their power, but many more lives were lost to fellow humans than Tailed Beasts.... But why do you ask?'' 

Sukuna looked at her for a short while before reaching for his cabinet's drawer and took an old book that contained many photos of the past. 

He opened the book and showed her a picture as he pointed his finger at it, ''Do these two youths look familiar to you?'' 

The picture showed a dozen or so youths in their early twenties / mid-twenties taking a clan photo. 

''Yes, they are your ancestors, Tobirama and Hashirama Senju'' Akai replied with a confused tone as Sukuna pointed to a woman behind Tobirama, holding a child with the man next to her having a friendly smile on his face. 

''Look at the mole under this woman's eye, who do you think that is'' 

Akai squinted her eyes as she mumbled, ''grandmother?'' 

''Yes, she was the Second Hokage's personal guard when he ascended. This was her family. However, Akai, what I'm about to tell you can't be told to anyone, including grandmother. I just want to know something'' Sukuna said with a bitter smile on his face. 

Akai nodded with a nervous expression as Sukuna's eyes looked strangely emotionless on top of that bitter smile. 

''What date did her husband die and how does she remember him?'' Sukuna asked while his heart felt heavy. 

''February 19th, she celebrates it baking his favorite strawberry cake every year'' Akai replied in confusion as Sukuna's expression turned heavier by the second as he continued, 

''What date did her child die and how would she mourn him?'' 

''October 23th, she would repeatedly repeat 'sorry' towards the Senju's shrine.'' 

''What did she do for his birthday and when was it?'' Sukuna said as his fist visibly trembled. 

''February 10th'' Akai's words fell in her throat as Sukuna's chakra made the building shake while his expression was full of killing intent. 

It took him a few seconds to calm down when everything started to make sense and walked towards the door, ''Thank you, I'll be back soon. I trust you can handle the rest of the affairs of the an-...'' 

Sukuna felt his vision warp as he was pulled onto the bed and pinned underneath Akai as she said seriously, ''We're not doing that again, tell me what is happening to you, or you will have to get my cold body of off you'' 

Sukuna hesitated for a bit as looked at her with an emotionless expression before opening his mouth, ''23rd of October is the birthday of Hashirama Senju, 10th of February is the birthday of Uchiha Madara's brother, Izuna Uchiha. And at last, the man in the picture's birthday was the 8th of March, not the 19th of February.... That is Tobirama Senju's birthday'' Sukuna said with an emotionless tone as Akai shook and wanted to speak, but Sukuna already nodded and said, 

''His favorite flavor was strawberry, which is widely known in the clan's history books'' Sukuna said with an empty expression. 

Akai couldn't connect the dots as Sukuna gave her another hint, 

''Akai, my body is made from a Tailed Beasts' skin'' 

Akai trembled as her eyes turned into horror before her mind finally realized his words and said in anger, ''And the only person that had access to the Tailed Beasts and was crazy enough to turn a child into a body made from Tailed Beast's... Is Tobirama'' 

''I also have Wood Release that is Sealed, I also have the Sharingan'' Sukuna replied as he put one of his arms in front of his face. 

''You mean.....'' Akai trembled as tears formed in her eyes as Sukuna confirmed, 

''I was never born in the first place, I was created''
