Habitual Liar Yasui

"To bargain?" Zabuza sat up, showing the kunai that he was holding.

Haku also took out the long needles that he used to battle. He never really wanted to be a shinobi. That is why he is only carrying such a low-kill weapon like the needles. But if he must kill to save Zabuza, he will do it.

"That's right. Please believe me. I mean you no harm." Yasui closed the door and leaned on it. He crossed his legs as well as his arms.

"Why should we? We can just call everyone in the organization here right now and capture you! That will make our lives easier too!" Zabuza hissed. If they capture Yasui and use him to trade for the bridge builder's life, then it will make things much easier for themselves.

"But the fact is, you have yet to do so, Mr. Zabuza." Yasui looked at Zabuza with his dark pupils.

"Speak right now." Haku said, clearly a little on edge.

"Would you believe me if I say that both of you will die if you attack the bridge, Mr. Zabuza?" Yasui started with a question that touched on the wounds of Zabuza.

"You dare to spout such nonsense? Do you really think that a bunch of kids and Kakashi will be able to kill me? I have already seen through your secrets!" Zabuza said, but he wasn't too confident in himself.

"Yes… I dare to speak such nonsense because I have a special ability." Yasui felt like he should use his knowledge of the future. If he doesn't he probably wouldn't be able to convince Zabuza and Haku. After all, he doesn't have the overwhelming power to beat them into submission.

"What ability?" Haku asked. He wondered what kind of ability can make Yasui so confident. Is it an instant kill ability?

Yasui changed his face and he seemed a little melancholic. He also made a bitter smile: "The Sharingan has more capabilities that you can ever imagine. Every now and then, a full blooded Uchiha will awaken a special ability after going through traumatic experiences. I am… one of such people. The ability that I gained… is to see the sorrows of the past and future… at the cost of my lifespan."

A tear shed down Yasui's face as he lied through his teeth. He pretended to act like he had already seen what the future held, and his sadness appeared on his face.

He felt like he would soon receive a best actor award if this ever got out.

He doesn't actually have the ability to see the sorrows of the past and future, but he has something similar to that – knowledge. Saying that his future vision ability is from the Sharingan is just a pretense to make things less complicated.

Though, he isn't fully lying either. Half of the stuff he said is true.

The Uchihas can awaken strange abilities through the awakening of the Magekyo, and the Mangekyo and grant the user a wide range of overpowered abilities.

So considering that he's speaking half truths, his lies might as well be real.

"Are you bullshitting me!? How can such an ability exist?" Zabuza made a threatening look. He pointed his kunai at Yasui, trying to reveal the brat's pretense.

"I can show you, Mr. Zabuza." Yasui waited for Zabuza to reply.

"Show me? How?" Zabuza seemed a little interested. If the boy is lying, he will send him to the gutter.

Yasui knew that if one must lie, they should lie until the very end. He pushed himself away from the door and inched closer to Zabuza and Haku. "To show you what I saw, I will need to put you in a Genjutsu."

"No." Haku once again came before Zabuza and protected him. He had seen how strong the Sharingan is. He didn't want to take risks when it came to protecting Zabuza.

"It's fine, Haku. Let the boy show me what he saw. I'm sure the boy will bet his life on it?!" Zabuza laughed and his face looked menacing.

Yasui paused, then nodded. He really isn't good at talk-no-jutsu. However, if he must risk his life to prevent a tragedy, he will do so even at the cost of his life. He wanted to create a future that he is proud of, not one that's punctured with regrets.

He just hoped that his actions today will change the minds of Zabuza.

Yasui went and sat on Haku's chair that is next to Zabuza's bed. He left his back exposed to Haku, allowing him to be in a passive situation. He said with resolve: "If you find anything fishy at any point and time, you can kill me."

"You're… crazy." Haku whispered. He didn't understand why this person was so daring.

Yasui activated his Sharingan and stared straight into Zabuza's soul through his eyes. Yasui decided to go all out.

Yasui then casted two techniques through his Sharingan.

The first one is the Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique. The second is the Demonic Illusion: Five Sense Manipulation. He had learned both of these through the books left by the Uchiha clan.

Zabuza stared into the red Sharingan eyes that he feared. Mist started to cloud his surroundings, and the scene began to change.

When mist dissipated, Zabuza found himself back in the Hidden Mist Village. What he saw… is the scene of him slaughtering his students from his academy. It is the day… that his life began to change.

Standing on top of the railings, he watched as his friends died one by one by his own hands. The friends that he once cherished… the friends he ate with. They were the people who he once shared his hopes and dreams with.

Reliving that day once again made Zabuza's heart race. The cold heart that he developed began to melt.

"How do you know this!?" Zaubza felt as if his whole body trembled. Unless Yasui was present that day, he would not be able to generate the details so well!

"I have seen more than this, Mr. Zabuza." Yasui said as he continued to show Zabuza his life. It went on to some of his Anbu duties… showing him the people that he had killed. Yasui also showed Zabuza the time that he met Haku, and he showed the scenes where they bonded together.

The point of showing Zabuza his own past… is to assure him that everything he will soon see is the truth. After all, a lie cannot solely be based on made up stories. It should also include many truths that the other person believes is true.

I don't have an ediotr, so do let me know if there are any confusing parts in the chapter.
