Chapter 84: Bad News?!

After all the 2v1 battles were done, Shikuro let his students relax and rest as he began to tell them about their strengths and what areas they had to improve on.

Shikuro started with Ken "Ken, your magma fist jutsu was quite destructive and powerful," He said shivering at the sight of the holes in the ground where ever Ken's fist had landed.

The ground was completely melted on those spots and there was still some magma there that was still melting away the ground.

"You even managed to train it to such a degree that you can use it for more than ten minutes in a battle without losing your concentration or tiring yourself out. Incredible. Your kenjutsu is also up to the mark but still needs some polishing. Your use of ninjutsu in tricky situations is quite good. You make your hand signs even faster than me."

As Shikuro kept on praising Ken's chest began puffing up but it deflated after his weaknesses were being listed.

"Your weakness is something that mostly everyone has but never bothers to get rid of it because the ones who can exploit it are quite rare. I am talking about the Sharingan genjutsu. And why it is rare? Even in the Uchiha clan, not many Sharingan users could put an enemy in a genjutsu with a single look let alone with a clone. Itachi here is a prodigy. Anyways, You could ignore this weakness since Uchihas are our allies thankfully." Shikuro kept on listing some more of his weaknesses before doing the same for Kabuto and Itachi.

Shikuro ended the training session soon after doing that.

"Alright, we will start working on those weaknesses from tomorrow."

The next day as Ken was about to leave for the training ground, an anbu appeared in front of him.

"Lord Hokage has called you and your team for a mission urgently."

--- Meanwhile a few minutes ago in Hiruzen's office----

Jiraiya appeared in front of Hiruzen with a serious expression on his face alerting Hiruzen and Shikaku.

"Bad news?" Hiruzen asked seeing that his student was not doing any of his usual shenanigans after arriving in the Leaf village like peeping at a bathhouse.

"Very, From my spies in Suna, I got to know that they are signing a peace treaty with the Mist and they are sending Pakura of the scotch release to sign it," Jiraiya told Hiruzen and Shikaku.

"That means after they both are at peace, the Mist would be directing most of its attention to us and that would mean a lot of casualties. Other villages might take advantage of this situation too. But how did the Mist even agree to the peace treaty anyway? We have been trying for months but we did not even receive a reply." Shikaku pointed out as Hiruzen rubbed his forehead thinking about the same.

"And that's where things get complicated. I got a message from my spy in Kiri that a squadron of shinobi is being dispatched to negotiate with Pakura." Jiraiya said

Shikaku and Hiruzen thought about the situation for a couple of minutes.

"And Pakura is going all alone?" Shikaku asked to confirm his suspicions.

Jiraiya nodded.

"Now all of it makes sense." Shikaku relaxed after solving the mystery as he began to explain the other two his theory "I think Suna and Kiri are really having a peace treaty. But there is a catch. The Mist hates Pakura for killing a lot of their shinobi. Not to forget that she burned them till they did not even leave a corpse behind. She is even a contender for the seat of Kasekage since Rasa does not have much influence in the village yet."

Hiruzen and Jiraiya understood where Shikaku was going with it "You mean that Rasa is sacrificing Pakura in exchange for peace?"

Shikaku nodded "Correct and that is why a squadron of kiri shinobi are going for negotiation. They are going to ambush her and kill her."

"To think he would sacrifice such a powerful and loyal shinobi for peace, disgraceful." Hiruzen sorrowly said

If only he knew that his future self would have done the same with Hizashi Hyuga then he would die from shame.

"We have to stop this peace treaty from happening. We can't afford Suna backing out of this war while at the same time, we have to make sure we don't break the alliance with Suna. Should we warn Pakura of it?" Hiruzen asked Shikaku

"No that would be a bad move. There is no reason that she would believe us and there is even a chance that she would report it to Rasa. We have to let her experience the betrayal of her village firsthand and then save her." Shikuro suggested

"But what after saving her? And we would have to send powerful shinobi to save her from that many shinobi and then kill them all out too. Sending a lot of shinobi would cause a lot of commotion. I would have sent out Orochimaru with Jiraiya but he is on a different mission. Sending more than two jonins would not go unnoticed."

"I could send Shikuro along with Jiraiya but unlike Orochimaru, he would not be able to sneak in easily. Kiri would know that something is amiss thanks to their wide network of spies. Jiraiya is known to travel so he should be fine." Hiruzen tried to think about how he could send strong shinobi to the Land of Water without any suspicions on them.

"Send Shikuro's team along with him and Jiraiya," Shikaku suggested calmly knowing fully well the answer he was going to receive.

"ARE YOU MAD?" Hiruzen lost his composure and shouted at Shikaku.
