(MC POV)
Even though Danzo has good control over his expression I can still feel that he was shaken by my little speech. Practically no one can complete the horrid missions that root does because of moral boundaries. Hearing that a young genius is willing to take the fall and work from the shadows must be a soothing thing to his old soul. After all Danzo is already past his prime and his body has already started weakening, how many more years can he lead root for?
This is the question that has already popped up in his mind, perhaps he won't live long enough to realize his ambitions? If I were Danzo I would focus on finding a suitable person to give my inheritance to. Sure he could choose Orochimaru but Orochimaru clearly doesn't care about anyone in the village and is obsessed with immortality. In the entire village there isn't anyone that can rise to challenge, except me.
Although I'll have to give up some things in order to completely convince him I know I can do it. Danzo may desire to sit on the throne of Hiruzen but this ambition started when he was young. Does he still have that motivation to continue vying for the Hokage position? Is it as strong as it was when he was young?
Obviously not Danzo is intelligent and has already realized that his chance of becoming Hokage is very slim. In that case he would want someone with similar interests as him to rise to the seat of power. I will be that person, Minato can go fuck himself, Tsunade is a drunk hazard to society and the only reason her reputation is good is due to her heritage, Kakashi? I'm going to put a hole through his head the second he isn't useful.
Speaking of which at the meeting yesterday Hiruzen brought up the subject of training a genin team. I asked which genin where without a jonin sensei and he brought up Kakashi. I told him that I would have Kakashi as my apprentice until he actually could be assigned to a team.
Seems like my schedule will be full of studying fuinjutsu to perfection while training Kakashi in kenjutsu. Speaking of which I should probably hurry up and meet Kakashi at the training grounds.
A minutes later and I'm standing in an flat empty field with a 6 year old kid sitting on the floor looking at me with a certain level of contempt.
"Are you Kakashi Hatake?"
Kakashi nods looking extremely bored, I wonder how long he's been waiting here? Anyways this will be fun I always enjoy beating children.
At speeds faster than the electrons in his brain can move I grab my katana and swing at his mask tearing it into billions of pieces. Yes, billions, with the kenjutsu experience left behind from Tobirama I improved my style after not having adjusted it in two years. That man really was a genius and I made sure to integrate parts of his style into mine.
The next second I calmly put my katana back into it's hilt strapped to my left leg. The microscopic pieces of fabric fly away and Kakashi clutches his face in overwhelming panic.
"I really hate that mask of yours, don't wear it again, that's an order. I don't know what Hiruzen told you about me but do know that if you slack off or don't pay attention to my teachings I will force you to go into the genin corps."
Kakashi looks back at me with a slightly defiant frown. The kid is really rebellious so I'll have to give the old carrot and stick.
"Don't give me that look, from what I've heard of you you're a talented genius unrivaled in Konohagakure's history. If you manage to completely master your father's kenjutsu style to the same degree as his then I'll give you the flying thunder god jutsu used by Tobirama Senju."
Strong resolve makes his eyes light up with determination and a large smile makes its way on my face.
"My name is Hikaru Shiro and I'll be your sensei untill you can be placed on an actual team with kids your age. I hope you live up to my expectations Kakashi Hatake."
Wind cuts a perfect square on the ground and the earth levitates up from my wind release. The giant slab of dirt lifts up about 60 meters in the air and Kakashi looks down at the training grounds below in shock.
"This is your first test, you will fight me on this slab of earth for 6 hours, if you manage to land a hit on me I'll give you my signature jutsu that allows me to cut at the cellular level with wind release."
Kakashi takes out his short white blade in anger that I think that lowly of him. Well he can't really complain after all he's not even chunin level while I'm at the last step of jonin. There is just a small barrier separating me from the realm of kages and I believe that just a few more months of training will be enough.
Kakashi brings his short sword to his chest and he applies chakra to the outside of his legs and arms. He really is talented, barely out the womb and already skilled in chakra control. Although he can't use it to internally coat his organs, bones or muscles so he's definitely going to hurt himself. But I can always just bring him to the hospital before he becomes permanently crippled.
The world turns black and white as everything slows to a halt. In this state I make a shadow clone to take my place and I go sit down on one of the edges of the floating platform. I don't personally need to participate in this fight after all and I have a lot of things to do. Starting with the scrolls that Danzo gave me, I need to learn and master them well enough untill I can use them effortlessly, I only have one month untill I go assassinate the patriarch of the Kaguya clan so I must make the most of this time.
Making Kakashi stronger is also on my list of priorities as I want Obito to fall in despair at the distance between them before I kill him. Maybe I'll even bring Kakashi with me to the land of Water for him to gain some experience? I'll see if he's ready at the end of this month to decide whether or not to bring him. I hope you don't disappoint Kakashi, for your sake.
